I'm thrilled to share the news that Rooftop Films has been selected to join the Bloomberg Philanthropies' Digital Accelerator Program alongside some incredible institutions — Metropolitan Opera, Smithsonian Institution, Brooklyn Museum, National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and The New York Historical. It's humbling to see Rooftop Films, with our indie New York spirit over here, in such esteemed company. Rooftop Films is a deeply analog organization. We're all about those magical, in-person connections we create when we watch films together, with our friends and neighbors, in special places, against stunning urban sunsets. But with our fourth decade on the horizon, this investment into essential digital infrastructure will help us deepen our relationships with the communities we serve, strengthen our ability to support the careers of independent filmmakers, and expand access to vital storytelling. I'm excited to be working with Bloomberg Philanthropies, knowing that the first cohort alone has generated $20 million in additional revenue, served 1 million more audience members, and supported another 4,000 artists and partners. It's a transformative program that since its inception in 2021 has now invested $128M to help nearly 350 cultural organizations strengthen their technology and management practices. I'm looking forward to what this might unlock for us in the years ahead — and will look forward to sharing the evolution with you. Until then, if you believe in the power of cinema to unite communities and uplift independent filmmakers, please support us as we embrace this new chapter.
