Goals tell you where you want to go, and strategy show you how to get there. Anyone can set goals, but winners have created a good strategy for reaching their objectives.

Recommended Watch - A strategy needs coherence. You can't prove in advance your strategy is doable. You build your strategy (a theory) to be better than competitors, to win your goal or vision or your market share, not just participate in the market. It is not the same as planning.

The point of a strategy is to make you change what you are doing. If you can’t see what you’d do differently after implementing a strategy, you probably haven’t written one!

It is not a strategy that you implement once a while that bring result, nor is it an effort that you show in a while that bring result rather it is your long term consistent strategy, efforts that bring the result.

Hey founder, you're overcomplicating strategy execution. You as the founder set the north star. The why and the what. With the end in mind, you retrace your steps so your team can handle the how. What will you do this year to get there? This quarter? Next week? Big goals, small steps.

Good strategy answers two simple questions. And remember, simple and easy are not the same thing. Those two questions: 1. Why there? 2. Why us? A little more detail can help: 1. Why there, rather somewhere else? 2. Why us, rather than someone else? The strength of each of these arguments is the strength of your strategy.

Your strategy should include 3 critical elements: 1. Strategy Story Describe why you chose this strategy. 2. Strategy Statement A practical, one-sentence summary of your strategy. 3. Action List Things you must do (or stop doing) to make this strategy come alive. You need all three to make a strategy viable. Because, ultimately, a strategy is a decision. And every good decision needs an explanation. Otherwise, your team won't be able to own it. Or know what the hell they're even supposed to do. Map out those 3 key elements. You'll have a much stronger strategy that way. One your team actually follows. ✌🏼 #shftyourbrand
