I want to do a personal journey (again) called 100 Days of Design, which I plan to post content for each day on LinkedIn. Some days, I may choose to critique other people's work and cite them as the author. Other days, I might just share my latest podcast episode with my cohost Charles Riccardi or make something myself to show. This will challenge me to explore trending technologies and where UX Design meets these changes in the tech world, especially with AI's impact on UX Design roles and how UX Design is changing. I made this graphic as a reminder of my roots where my design career started in graphic design. Follow me to see where it goes! 😄 #100daysofdesign #design #ux #ui #userexperience #challenge

The Power of Storytelling in UX Design. This week, a podcast reminded me of storytelling's power in UX design. A storyteller crafted a user journey narrative. The story highlighted user struggles, desires, and joys. Suddenly, everything clicked. Data gained meaning. The team saw through the user’s eyes and felt their experiences. Key takeaways: - Empathy: Understand and feel the user's experiences. - Storytelling: Turns data into emotional journeys. - User-centered design: Create experiences that resonate. - Design choices: Each is a chapter; make it memorable. - Power of stories: They make users feel seen and understood. Steve Jobs said, “The most powerful person in the world is the storyteller.” Every design choice is a chapter in their journey. Keep pushing forward, fellow designers. Your work is more than pixels and code. #UXDesign #UserExperience #Storytelling #DesignInspiration #UserJourney

🔈 This week's Appendix B is the first half of a conversation about what Bravery Media means when we talk about Content-first Design. If you're not a content strategist, you've probably gotten annoyed hearing this from the content people in your work life, but hear us out. Design is so much easier and so much more effective when you know what each page or ad or social post is supposed to communicate. Take a listen, it's about 12 minutes long and available wherever you listen to podcasts (or on our website linked in the comments). #HigherEd #ContentStrategy #HigherEdMarketing

We had a great time last night hosting our webinar on Truly Informed CX using Insightful and Actionable Research 💡 Veronica Naguib shared practical strategies and advice for anyone looking to embed User Research deeper into their business and drive real impact with their insights. The turnout was fantastic, showing just how important insightful and actionable research is for those working in UX, CX, and Product. For anyone who couldn’t join us, here are some of the key takeaways from the session: ➡️ Understanding what job your research needs to do: Too much research is done without a clear purpose. Ask yourself: Is your research helping stakeholders understand customers? Challenging outdated thinking? Or just ticking boxes? Without a measurable goal, your research is wasted. ➡️ Responding with the right approach and format: Nobody reads 100-page PDFs anymore. Deliver insights in ways that spark action - think interactive tools, AI-driven dashboards, podcasts, or bite-sized videos. If your insights aren’t easy to digest and use, they won’t make an impact. ➡️ Focusing on new knowledge where you can. The whole point of research is to offer a fresh perspective - something your stakeholders didn’t already know. If your research isn’t delivering insights that challenge assumptions and reframe thinking, you’ve missed the mark. Your role isn’t just to inform; it’s to change the way your stakeholders think and behave. Be bold, be disruptive, and give them something they can’t afford to overlook. Thanks again to everyone who joined us! And if you'd like a recording of the webinar, drop us a message and we’ll be happy to share it with you. #UX #CX #UserResearch #Webinar

🧠 Understanding Cognitive Load in UX Design: Why Less Is Often More When it comes to creating user-friendly interfaces, understanding cognitive load is crucial. Too much information = overwhelmed users. Overwhelmed users = poor experience. Poor experience = task abandonment. Why do we have to manage it? How to manage it? When to manage it? 💎 Here’s some Useful Resources for you - https://lnkd.in/g5YbTv4m TLDR: 1. Cognitive load refers to the total amount of mental effort being used in the working memory. 2. Three types of cognitive load: Intrinsic (complexity of the content), Extraneous (how the content is presented), and Germane (effort used to create a permanent store of knowledge). 3. Minimize extraneous load for better learning and user engagement. 4. Optimize intrinsic load by breaking down complex information into digestible chunks. 5. Enhance germane load by using techniques that help users form meaningful connections with the material. 💪🏽 Want the FULL resource list? > https://lnkd.in/gq59JekU Have any other resources or tips to share on managing cognitive load in UX? 🎄 Day 1 of our UX AEdvent! 🎄 🌟🎄 It’s the first of December and that is not only the point of which you can start counting down to Christmas, but also the first day of the UX AEdvent we organize at AE For those who didn’t follow us the last years, the concept is that me and my UX loving colleagues share 25 days long interesting resources such as blogs, podcasts, books, … we’ve read and that we think are worth sharing. One new thing we introduce this year is that we grouped the interesting resources into four different categories: Accessibility, UX strategy, Enterprise UX, Design systems and AI. So follow me (or one of my colleagues) in the next 25 days if you are interested! ps: if you cannot wait to start discovering interesting content, you can already browse through the content of last year https://lnkd.in/eWbfU9WR or go to the UX knowledge hub of AE https://hub.ae.be/tag/ux #AEdvent #AE #UX #UserExperience
