Impressed by our Emergency Assist? Wait until you see this! Some of you asked us if the assist system can also help you on busy roads. The answer is quite easy: it can! #Volkswagen #SafetyFirst
I used to watch Knight Rider as a 10 year old and wondered if any of KITT's functions would become a reality on future cars. Apart from the famous "Turbo Boost" which enabled KITT (a near 2 tonne 1982 Pontiac Trans Am) to jump over obstacles - pretty much everything else is now a reality! This is real progress!
It is truly impressive to see Volkswagen's innovation with the Emergency Assist feature! It's a significant leap in safety and overall driving experience, as it boosts driver confidence and promotes safer roads for everyone. We are excited to see how your innovations continue to shape the future of mobility!
I have a silly thought: If the car crashes into the side of the road, other people are more likely to stop and assist. This kind of controlled stop will lead many to believe, the driver is still okay.
This is great. But what happens if the driver does not take their hands off the steering wheel? Does it still work? sometimes it may happen too i think
Great #SafetyCritical system Volkswagen - Is the car using it's #DMS camera to see the driver is incapacitated?
Falling asleep while driving... 🤭.. No problem, we have the solution : Volkswagen has just released another bullshit called Emergency Assist.. What an absolute nonsense. First of all, Why someone sane and tired enough to acknowledge it, should even drive? Unfortunately, yes this is happening, I agree, people drive anyway, nobody really cares. But however, if you really want to prevent something then make a smart car which will detect your state of mind and health immediately as you sit behind the steering wheel. If any sign of being tired or the driver is not really physically fit for driving, is detected, then the engine must not start by default. So you don't drive anywhere until you are fully in a good state to do that. If you are able to do that, then indeed it would be a very useful Emergency Assist, On the contrary, what I see in this video is nothing else but a marketing campaign to generate more deadly chain accidents on highways. With this you do nothing else but to disturb the drivers behind you. It only takes a moment of losing focus and while you think you are safe another car can easily hit you violently from behind. 😡. You don't seem to learn anything from DieseGate story.. Uffff 🤦
Good job guys!
Fine and impressive tech. What would it do on a so-called ‘Smart Motorway’ - pull you over into a live running lane? That’s not a criticism of VW tech (of which I am a fan, with a Golf R in the household), it’s a criticism of the daft motorway.
