Words of wisdom from Sara Burden, CBI, MAMI, CMAP, FIBBA, FMAS, Michael Lonergan, Drew Miller, Peter Mangal: - Deals age like milk, not wine. - There’s been a dramatic increase in due diligence. More deals are dying as a result. - A sell side Quality of Earnings is all the more valuable in this environment. - Know your potential buyer’s track record on re-trades. - Select constructive, effective advisors. - Run your business every day like you were selling it tomorrow. What is the point of historic review boards? Is it to prevent change or guide change? They are two very different things...
I am having mixed feelings about historic review boards. Yes, their opinion is important and valuable, but sometimes I think boards like this, including historic district commissions, prevent reasonable changes.

Watch out NYSE and CME, Texas is coming on strong! While a scrappy startup, the TXSE has the potential to be a player in the national, and perhaps global, financial markets. With as many Fortune 500 Companies headquartered in Texas as are in New York, and growing, access to capital just became easier in Texas with the TXSE. With more foreign direct investment in Texas in 2024 and the fastest growing GDP of any state, Texas is attracting a new generation of companies and investors. The TXSE is positioned well to serve these new players.
This fall, TXSE had the pleasure of visiting with Governor Greg Abbott at his official residence in Austin, Texas. It was a momentous day spent celebrating the strength of Texas' economy alongside prominent business leaders from a range of industries. At TXSE, our top priorities are revitalizing competition for issuers, establishing the premier venue for listings, and creating a world-class trading platform. With a strong foundation of support and a team of seasoned experts, we are committed to supporting the development of the capital markets for the benefit of all market participants, driving economic prosperity in Texas and beyond. Thank you again, Governor Abbott, for hosting us and for your vision in positioning Texas as one of the world's premier financial centers. Check out the clip below for a closer look back at this memorable day.
