The global issues we face cannot be solved by one sector alone. This week, we joined the Global Inclusive Growth Summit, hosted by Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, a gathering of global leaders, policy-makers and innovators. As we sought to address today's most pressing challenges, all roads pointed towards greater cross-sector collaboration. We also heard a recurrent call for a strengthened consumer voice. From helping the most vulnerable protect their pensions, to empowering rural women through financial inclusion. Time and again, we heard leaders express the need for co-created spaces where the consumer is seen and their voice is heard. The Herald and s1jobs in partnership with Powering Futures breakfast discussion event takes place on Wednesday, April 17 as the panel and speakers raise awareness around the changing dynamics of talent development, workplace cultures and sustainability. Who is the event for? This event is for those employers who are ready and willing to engage the next generation with enhanced skills and abilities to create a pipeline of talent to drive the transition to net zero. Businesses tell us that there is a real issue with skills and resources and a further concern over engaging gen z’. The discussion is around how the next generation need to be ready for the workplace and the workplace needs to be ready for them. What will you take away? There are truly different ways to engage the next generation The connections between education and business can be improved significantly Young people do not necessarily understand the opportunities nor the pathways to get there The route to net zero should be opportunity led if we are to engage the masses of everyday people Empowering the next generation in your organisation can create the cultural shift required to make sustainability a virtue If you would like to attend please visit https://lnkd.in/dRBKEw6r

Where does Australia most need collaboration to shift power and create a future built on equity—not division? We're excited to share the three most important opportunities we see for the decade ahead. • Peace-Building and Healing • Equitable Democracy • Connected Communities This is big, all-hands-on-deck, intergenerational work. We’d love to start a conversation with you in 2025 about what it means to do this work—together. For over a decade, we have partnered with First Nations and other Australians. Communities who are showing why and how they can, and must, be at the centre of transforming the systems that shape their lives. Communities who are leading the way to a brighter and fairer future for all. At CFI, we believe everyone has a role in creating a more equitable future. Our work is to help people collaborate in ways that changes power and transform systems—so all people and Country can thrive. We have worked and walked with so many of you. At the local, regional, and national level, and the spaces in between. Together we have shown how we can collaborate across differences—in race, culture, power, and perspective. And why this is essential to tackling the roots of inequity. We are in a time of Both/And. A time of polarisation, disinformation, inequality and injustice. And a time of tremendous love, courage, strength and creativity—as we continue the work for a brighter and fairer future. Like many of you, we have been asking ourselves and others: what are these times calling from us to create a more equitable Australia? For CFI, where does Australia most need collaboration to shift power and reimagine a future based on equity, not division? This is why we are setting our sights on these three opportunities in the decade ahead. 👉 Read more and get in touch here: www.cfi.org.au Anna Powell Min Wah Voon Sarah Callaghan Susan Yazbeck Mark Yettica-Paulson John Hibble Angela Rutter Bec Fry Rodney Greene Laura Barnes Caroline Aow Muktasree Chakma Monique Lerchner

What will you do to drive change for diversity and its inclusion in your business and wider society? Thank you to the brilliant panellists Anne Boden, Anton Padmasiri, Christian Tooley and Wincie Wong! It was an honour to moderate the discussion This is what I learnt: 👏 Inclusion has faced backlash - what will we as an industry do to commit to diversity, equity and inclusion? 👏 Inclusion should be part of your business's foundation from day one, and smaller start-ups are excelling because of it. 👏 We need more policies to attract more talent from all backgrounds and experiences to the industry, and examples of the benefits here are plentiful. 👏 Work with Government task forces to ensure equitable actions become the expectation is underway. 👏 Driving forward positive actions day in, day out for everyone to be involved in are being implemented. Thank you Innovate Finance and Seven Hills for the brilliant opportunity to moderate on stage at this year's #IFGS #walkthetalk #inclusionincludsusall #careers #diversityandinclusion

Let's dive into a vision that's deeply important to me; envisioning a world where women are fully empowered through financial freedom. This isn't just trendy talk; it's about transforming lives and societies. Imagine a future where every woman controls her finances, her choices, and her life's direction. That's the real essence of empowerment. When I landed in Canada 12 years ago, it was a whole new world for me. Starting to invest right away was one of the smartest things I've ever done. It wasn't just about saving money; it was about my saved up money working for me. And speaking of making money work, have you listened to Simran Kaur's latest talk about investments at Google Talks? She is great in simplifying investments she talked about risk tolerance, the importance of sticking with your investment plan, and why thinking long-term is key. And the way she breaks down stocks, bonds, and funds? Its Mind-blowing. https://lnkd.in/dY_iSmsd Honestly, it's conversations like these that remind me why I started investing in the first place. It's not just about the money (okay, maybe a little bit :D ). It's about feeling empowered to make choices, to take risks, and to support not just myself but those around me. And here's the thing - as women, sometimes the financial world can feel like it's not built for us. But knowledge is power. Learning about investments, getting comfortable with the market, it can change everything. Its finding what works for you and your goals. Remember, it's all about growing, not just our bank accounts, but ourselves too. Let's make those smart moves and empower each other along the way. #FinancialFreedom #WomenInInvesting #Empowerment #InvestmentJourney #LetsGrowTogether
