Vital Energi Utilities Limited’s Post

2MW Solar Farm Completed 🌱 It was a pleasure to join officers and members from Westmorland and Furness Council to celebrate the official opening of their new 2MW solar farm at Sandscale Park in Barrow! This project was completed in just six months and is a first for the council and a vital step towards their net zero targets. Key highlights: 💚Environmental Impact: The solar farm generates enough electricity to power the five council-owned leisure centres, or around 730 homes each year. 💚Biodiversity Commitment: Enhanced biodiversity plans are in place, ensuring a net gain that supports local wildlife. 💚Energy Security: The solar farm will reduce energy costs and insulate the council from volatile fossil fuel prices. A huge congratulations to all the teams and partners involved in making this vision a reality! Together, we’re taking bold steps to combat climate change and promote sustainability in our communities.
