The LNP has indicated a shift from reliance on external consultants and instead will upskill the public sector workforce if they win the Qld state election. This raises the question: why haven’t public servants already been equipped with these skills; especially given the generous salaries many senior officials receive? Needless to say, and it follows that critics argue that inflated remuneration in the public sector should come with greater competency and expertise. Furthermore, the LNP's plan suggests a push for efficiency and self-reliance, highlighting a need for better internal capabilities to reduce outsourcing costs and improve accountability.
