Day 3 recap of the ASRS – American Society of Retina Specialists annual meeting: Linda Lam MD MBA moderated an interesting panel discussion on some key socioeconomic topics relevant to #retina. Moshin Ali, MD from The Retina Group of Washington (PRISM Vision Group) discussed how the use of virtual scribes can increase patient satisfaction. Miguel Busquets, MD from RETINA ASSOCIATES OF KENTUCKY (EyeCare Partners) demonstrated that #homeOCT is likely to create a net benefit for wet #AMD patients, doctors, and the wider health care community. According to Physicians Practice editor Keith Reynolds, "The actual practice of medicine is only part of deciding where to start your practice." In fact, the state where you decide to practice may be one of the most crucial factors when deciding where to start your medical group. To help determine what parts of the country offer the best quality of life for physicians, Physicians Practice ranked the top ten states based on things like the adjusted cost of living, life expectancy, crime rates, and more. The top five states? ✅Florida ✅Colorado ✅Virginia ✅Delaware ✅Wyoming Be sure to check out the full list of top ten best states to practice at: https://lnkd.in/g5FugEBh #AmbulatoryCare #PrivatePractice #QualityofLife

Joseph Zorek, PharmD, BCGP, FNAP continues sharing content from his book, as the conversation around #IPE continues during National Interprofessional Healthcare Month! Panels highlighting multiple providers with more than one person speaking were always a enjoyable challenge. They also allowed me to use some more dramatic camera angles/placements, and make it all look very official, in two (or three) point perspective. As always, I was very appreciative of Joe and his teams' trust when I suggested these visual solutions. Please follow along with Joe, and check out his book, as we head towards the end of the month, and he posts more excerpts!
Continuing this series of posts to elevate and celebrate National Interprofessional Healthcare Month! This image comes from "BURDEN: An Illustrated Case Study," co-authored by Bob Breslow with art by George Folz. The story follows a pharmacist trying to help an interprofessional team get to the bottom of an older adult's description of feeling "a bit muddled" in his thoughts - a sort of fuzziness and slowness to his thinking. Leveraging the American Geriatrics Society's Beers Criteria and other tools to minimize anticholinergic burden, the team makes changes to the patient's medication list that collectively address the problem. From: Breslow RM, Kieser MA, Zorek JA. Chapter 7: Geriatrics. In: Zorek JA. Interprofessional Practice in Pharmacy: Featuring Illustrated Case Studies. New York, NY: McGraw-Hill; 2021:151-170.
