Day 3 recap of the ASRS – American Society of Retina Specialists annual meeting: Linda Lam MD MBA moderated an interesting panel discussion on some key socioeconomic topics relevant to #retina.   Moshin Ali, MD from The Retina Group of Washington (PRISM Vision Group) discussed how the use of virtual scribes can increase patient satisfaction.   Miguel Busquets, MD from RETINA ASSOCIATES OF KENTUCKY (EyeCare Partners) demonstrated that #homeOCT is likely to create a net benefit for wet #AMD patients, doctors, and the wider health care community. Since 2019, Franklin County hospitals have reduced the amount of opiates prescribed to women undergoing Cesarean Section by 24%. This reduction is part of the work of the hospital systems’ Opiate Prescription Reduction Initiative, which is aimed at reducing the amount of opiates prescribed to patients who are undergoing certain surgeries and ambulatory procedures.
