Telling yourself that you're going to try - try to eat better today, try to get to yoga after work, try to finish the charting on time, try not to yell at the kids, try to get to bed earlier - is not a plan. It's a stall tactic. Stop telling yourself that you're going to try - just do it. Your day is in your control - don't leave it up to chance. www.charlottenelsonmd.com #lifecoach #physiciancoach #physicianwellness

Learning Yoga Philosophy, today posed a question in my mind. Ahsima is the Yama known as nonviolence. Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual... this concept brings new light to emotions such as worry and concern, which can be considered acts of violence through showing that you don't trust someone's ability to handle their lives. Satya is the Yama of truthfulness, which asks you to be completely honest with yourself and others, but also to practice kindness in your honesty. These two Yamas are connected because of this kindness. So what do you think? Can there be an act of violence that is really nonviolent? #yogapractice #Philosophy

“Yogasthaḥ kuru karmāṇi” (Chapter 2, Verse 48) Translation: “Perform your actions established in yoga (equanimity).” Explanation: This verse advises staying centered while performing duties, without attachment to results. Example: When working towards a weight loss or career goal, staying calm and consistent, even when results fluctuate, is key to long-term success. #BhagavadGita #StayBalanced #Consistency #Focus #LongTermSuccess

If you live in the Charlotte metro area, you really may wanna pay Carrie Wren, MSW, PCC a visit for a Thai yoga therapy session. 🙏🏼 90 minutes with her every six weeks is part of my foundation to thrive. This is a great time of year to recommit, reevaluate, tighten up that structure to support your flow, etc. #wellbeing #selfloveiskey #reevaluate #recommit #levelup

Do you feel overly attached to your things? Perhaps one of the eight limbs of yoga: Aparigraha, may help in learning and practising the art of non-attachment. Heather Grant shares with us how this principle can help with loosening our grip on a wide variety of things in our life. Remember that: *I am not the things I own *I am not the clothes I wear *I am not my job *I am not my relationships *I am not the place I live *I am – and that’s it To read the full article and find out how you can start this practice click the link below now. https://lnkd.in/e8caMCcq
