RPA is faster in development but needs 3 to 6x more support. Some things that can help: * Have bots do initial "self heal" - improves dev-to-bot support ratio. * Consider using more efficient bot management tools/systems. * Regularly rotate RPA developers between dev and support. * Establish RPA career paths for professional development. * Increase RPA developers through university programs. What is partial selector in UiPath? Partial selectors contain only the information necessary to identify the target element, without including the full hierarchy. They are used within the context of an activity that has already identified the container or parent element, such as an Attach Window or Attach Browser activity. Does not contain the tags and attributes of the top-level window, thus the activities with partial selectors must be enclosed in containers. This is generated by the desktop recorder and best suited for performing multiple actions in the same window. Advantages: Efficiency: Partial selectors are more efficient and faster to process since they contain less information. Flexibility: They are less prone to breaking with minor changes in the UI hierarchy. Disadvantages: Context Dependency: Partial selectors rely on the context provided by container activities, so they are not self-contained and cannot be used independently. AI could kill all call centers within a year! It is not my prediction but it has come from the TCS CEO. That's quite a bold statement. There's no doubt AI will disrupt a lot of industries and traditional outsourcing models will go for a toss. However, I think it's up to IT Services whether they want to use this as an opportunity or a threat. Here are a couple of business models I could foresee in near future: - Helping clients build large custom AI bots and layers: Companies like TCS would have vast amounts of client data so they can be front runners in helping clients leverage AI for their benefits. - Shared AI Hybrid services: Running AI at scale is expensive at this stage. Clients would be wary of running a large-scale AI transformation themselves. That’s again where they can bring in efficiencies by providing a mix of shared AI + Manual layer. Is this piece interesting? We cover this and other news in our weekly newsletter. Do check it out: uxhack.substack.com pic credits CX Today

Building Bots Feels Like Taking an IQ Test Every Day! As a developer working with RPA and automation, I often feel like I'm taking an IQ test daily. Creating bots to handle complex workflows, solve logic puzzles, and troubleshoot on the fly has pushed my problem-solving and analytical skills to the next level. It’s like each task demands: Pattern Recognition: Finding repetitive tasks and optimizing processes Problem-Solving Skills: Identifying the root cause when bots encounter unexpected issues Adaptability: Continuously adjusting bot behavior as systems, data, or goals evolve Each new bot is a test of intelligence, precision, and adaptability — qualities we often look for in employees, and qualities we’re now embedding in bots. In a way, developing these bots feels like training my own cognitive skills to keep up with the demands of increasingly complex automation needs. Anyone else feel the same way in the world of automation? #Automation #RPATechnology #BotDevelopment #IQSkills #ProblemSolving #rpa #ai #machinelearning #deeplearning
