The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (ऊर्जा दक्षता ब्यूरो) has initiated a voluntary Star Labelling program for Grid-connected Solar Inverters. This is a big step forward for India's Standards and Labeling (S&L) program. Through this initiative, there is a projection in achieving energy savings of 21.1 billion kWh and a significant reduction of 15.1 million tonnes in carbon dioxide emissions between FY 2024-25 and FY 2033-34. Beyond its direct impact on energy conservation, this endeavour serves as a key enabler for the Prime Minister’s Rooftop Solar Programme. Aligned with the objective of deploying rooftop solar systems in 10 million households nationwide, this initiative promises to further accelerate the adoption of solar energy across diverse segments of the population. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬: ◉ The label period for energy star label will be 15th March 2024 to 31st December 2025. ◉ This energy labelling program encompasses for both single phase and three phase grid connected solar inverters without storage up to and including 100 kW rated output power being manufactured, imported and sold in India. ◉ This program does not cover the dynamic MPPT efficiency. ◉ Only BIS certified solar inverters complied with IS 16221-2:2015 are eligible to take part in the BEE’s Standard and Labelling program. ◉ The standard and labelling portal for company and model registrations will be accessible soon. You can find more information, including the schedule and sample label layout, on the S&L portal by clicking here: https://lnkd.in/gDRi66ZT For any clarification, queries can be directed to [email protected] #India #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #StandardsAndLabeling #solar #energyefficiency #RooftopSolar #energyconservation #SolarInverters

Demystifying Rooftop Solar: Understanding Net Metering Vs. Gross Metering Rooftop solar energy has emerged as a transformative solution for sustainable electricity generation in India, offering individuals and businesses the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint and electricity bills. Central to maximizing the benefits of rooftop solar installations are the different metering options available, namely net metering and gross metering. Understanding these terms and their regulatory context in the Indian market is crucial for potential adopters of solar technology. Net metering allows rooftop solar system owners in India to generate electricity for their own consumption while also feeding excess power back into the grid. Under this mechanism, the electric meter […] Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/dztyQUw5 #solarenergy #alternativeenergy #solarpv #pvsolar #photovoltaic #cleanenergy #cleantech #climatechange #grossmetering #india #netmetering #rooftop #solarenergy #solarpedia

Here are some key benefits of on-grid solar systems for households: 1. Cost Savings: On-grid solar systems allow households to generate their own electricity, significantly reducing or even eliminating their reliance on grid power. This can lead to substantial cost savings on electricity bills over time. 2. Return on Investment (ROI): Installing a solar on-grid system offers a great return on investment. As electricity tariffs continue to rise, the savings accumulated from generating your own solar energy can help recover the initial investment within a few years, depending on the system size and electricity consumption. 3. Net Metering: In India, on-grid systems can be connected to the grid through a net metering arrangement. This allows households to export excess electricity generated by their solar panels back to the grid, earning them credits or cash incentives. This effectively reduces their electricity expenses even further. 4. Environmental Sustainability: Solar energy is clean and renewable, meaning it produces no harmful greenhouse gas emissions or air pollution during operation. By opting for solar power, households can significantly reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner environment. 5. Energy Independence: With an on-grid solar system, households have greater control over their energy production. They become less dependent on the grid, particularly during power outages or periods of high demand. This energy independence ensures a constant and reliable electricity supply. 6. Long Lifespan and Low Maintenance: On-grid solar systems are designed with durability in mind, often lasting for 25-30 years. Additionally, they require minimal maintenance aside from occasional cleaning to keep the panels free from dirt or debris. This makes them a hassle-free and long-term investment for households. 7. Government Incentives: In India, the government provides various incentives, subsidies, and tax benefits to promote solar energy adoption. These can help offset the initial installation cost and make on-grid solar systems more affordable for households. Contact us for a reliable and cost effective installation #solarongrid #renewsilicon

Solar 101 💡 Many businesses want to power their operations sustainably but don’t have enough space on-site for solar panels or are reluctant to make substantial capital investments. Open-access solar offers an effective solution for both of these needs. Open access allows commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers with high electricity needs to purchase green energy directly from off-site renewable energy farms. In India, green energy open access is available to all C&I consumers with a load demand of 100kW or higher. To source solar energy through open access, the consumer enters a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with an Independent Power Producer (IPP). The power producer sets up an off-site solar farm in a location with ample sunlight and sells the generated power to the consumer at a pre-decided tariff. The electricity is transferred directly to the consumer’s premises through the grid. By leveraging open access, businesses can reduce electricity expenses by 30-60%, as solar energy is significantly more affordable than conventional power. #OrnateSolar #SolarEnergy #OpenAccess #Solar101
