The Wendy's Company plans to close 140 underperforming locations in 2025. Despite this, Wendy's reported same-store sales growth of 2.8% globally in the third quarter, with increases of 2.2% in the United States and an impressive 7.8% internationally. Kirk Tanner CEO Wendy's said "focus on building customer love by – Fresh Famous Food, Made Right". In comparison, the Dallas-based parent company of Chili's and Maggiano's Little Italy reported same-store sales growth of 13% systemwide, with Chili’s seeing a remarkable 14.1% increase. Key Takeaways and Insights on Brand Performance in the Last Quarter: - Strategic Menu Focus: Wendy's has taken strategic steps to address labor cost increases and declining customer counts by enhancing its higher-value menu offerings, leading to a larger average check size. Similarly, Chili’s noted that nearly half of its customers are choosing the premium "3 for Me" meal, demonstrating that menu simplification combined with premium options has been effective for both brands. - Profitability Challenges: Wendy's profitability was impacted by rising advertising and depreciation expenses. However, this was partially offset by growth in franchise royalty revenue and increased franchise net rental income. - Cost Management Success: Wendy's successfully reduced cloud computing expenses and overall capital expenditure, contributing to improved cash flow. read here- https://lnkd.in/gCVSzpSK While Wendy’s is focusing on cost management, Chili’s has made strategic investments in equipment like TurboChef Technologies, Inc.. Their ovens outperform conventional options, as Kevin Hochman noted, “The TurboChefs are much faster, and they make a much more consistent product.” read here - https://lnkd.in/gjyHC3DS At TechRyde, we believe that investing in the right tools, equipment, and latest innovative technology—especially artificial intelligence—can significantly help brands offset operational costs, labor challenges and rising costs while driving encouraging sales growth. Cheers to Progress: The End of Prohibition and Its Impact on America’s Economy and Hospitality Industry December 5th marks the anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition—a transformative moment that not only restored freedoms but reignited economic growth and revolutionized the hospitality industry. 🍸🍺 The Rebirth of Hospitality The repeal of Prohibition in 1933 reopened bars, restaurants, breweries, and distilleries, creating jobs and driving demand for farming, trucking, and glassmaking. This resurgence breathed new life into hospitality, turning it into a cornerstone of the American economy. 🍷💼 Tax Revenue and Economic Stimulus With alcohol sales back on the table, tax revenue poured into federal and state budgets, funding critical public projects and helping lift the nation out of the Great Depression. 💵🏗️ Today, the alcohol industry contributes over $400 billion annually to the U.S. economy and supports 4.5 million jobs. 👏 Cultural Legacy and Innovation From craft breweries to luxury hotel lounges, the repeal sparked a hospitality renaissance, paving the way for innovation in cocktails, dining experiences, and guest services. Its impact continues to fuel creativity and connection across industries. 🍹✨ At C&G Consulting Group, we honor milestones like this that showcase resilience, growth, and opportunity. Let’s toast to the lessons of the past and a brighter, more prosperous future. Cheers! 🥂 #HospitalityIndustry #EconomicGrowth #CheersToHistory #EndOfProhibition #JobsAndGrowth #C&GConsultingGroup

To buy or not to buy? 2023 Chateau Leoville Las Cases 🍷 - Released at £1,662 per 12x75, a 40% decrease compared to last year. - Neal Martin: 95-97 points. As an aside, Neal Martin was again voted the most trusted Bordeaux critic by Liv-ex members this year. - Leoville Las Cases has been trending downwards in terms of secondary market trade share by value and by volume. There are better value alternatives on the market here. The 2019 for example received a NM score of 97, and is trading below the 2023 release. It also benefits from longer in bottle, so will likely reach peak drinking age sooner allowing investors to realise returns.

I just learned today that neighborhood bodegas often don't have 'suppliers' in the strictest sense. Bodega owners go to club stores (Costco, Sam's Club, BJ's) to buy stuff in bulk to be sold in their stores. "Bargaining power of suppliers" doesn't apply here. My current and former students/colleagues, how would you go about analyzing the industry attractiveness/profitability? #industryanalysis #5forcesanalysis #strategicmanagement
