How a Canopy and Strategic Timing Boosted Brand Awareness
Recently, I had the opportunity to assist Zeerus.in, a brand founded by my college peers, with their advertising strategy. Despite their efforts with online ads, they struggled to reach their target audience effectively.
I realized we had a captive audience of 30,000–40,000 students on campus, and this inspired me to think of an on-campus canopy setup. While it seemed like an old-school approach, I believed strategic timing could make a significant impact.
Here’s what made the difference:
Timing is Everything:
Our college operates from 9 AM to 5 PM, with most students in a rush to attend classes in the morning. Setting up the canopy early in the day wouldn’t have captured their attention.
Instead, I observed that the majority of students entered the campus until around 2 PM, with peak activity happening 1 hour before the day's end as students started leaving.
To maximize visibility, I scheduled the canopy from 1 hour before the day’s end to 1 hour afterward, ensuring we captured the relaxed, outgoing crowd.
This approach worked wonders! The canopy showcased high-quality clothing, promoted the website, and attracted students across various categories.
The results?
A significant increase in sales.
Repeat customers who became loyal to the brand.
Enhanced visibility and awareness of Zeerus.in within our community.
Collaborating with my peers and managing this project taught me the importance of understanding audience behavior, being creative with limited resources, and balancing traditional methods with modern strategies.
I’m excited to bring the same energy and creativity to future challenges. If your organization could use fresh ideas and a determined professional, I’d love to connect and collaborate. 😊
