The Five R's: Reflection, Responsibility, Respect, Relationships, and Reading Action and reflection are essential to learning and growth. Reflecting on big moments from a year ago, I recall my journey to Adelaide, unexpectedly delayed by the Optus outage—a reminder that even large organisations could learn a thing or two about building and maintaining strong networks. Eventually, I made it to a conference, framed by a beautiful window in my “home away from home”. My journal and a book were my companions, expanding my perspectives even when my feet stayed firmly on the ground. As I think about future meetings, I’m inspired to ask, “What book are you reading?” Life’s journey teaches us the power of the Five R’s: reflection, responsibility, respect, relationships, and reading. These principles shape our growth and understanding in unique ways, guiding us to become more thoughtful, resilient, and aware of our impact on others. This week, I came to a difficult realisation—that there are some people I’m simply unable to assist. It’s a challenging, yet invaluable lesson in recognising our limits, while continuing to strive for meaningful understanding, connection, and authentic support. #reflection #responsibility #respect #relationships #reading #learning #endoflife #grief #livedexperience #journey

I’m presenting in #Denver this week on unlocking resiliency and peak performance in the face of stress. We are all so different, diverse and unique in who we are, where we came from, and what we value. Our “snowflake” essence is what makes the world and our work environments so very special. Nevertheless, every single one of us yearns for the same 2 things in our careers: (1) more resiliency, inner peace, and joy (i.e., emotional enhancement); and (2) improved cognitive functioning of some sort, e.g., improved focus, efficiency, memorization, reading comprehension, will power, decision-making, creativity, etc. (i.e., cognitive enhancement). When we begin incorporating into each day science-backed techniques proven to advance these two core needs, rather than exclusively spending each day frantically white-knuckling our way through our various deadlines, we begin accomplishing more in less time — and with higher quality and more joy. 🎉💪😛 [P.S. Very cool to see Mile High Stadium off in the distance behind me -- about 1.5 miles away. And yes, I still call it "Mile High Stadium," regardless of the corporate re-branding. 😉]

You know what I absolutely love about new beginnings? They offer us a chance to start afresh. Clean slate! Yayyy! It’s perfectly okay if last month didn’t go as planned; that’s why this month exists. You have an opportunity to make the most out of the new month. Here’s how you can maximize your productivity and LEAD with intentionality in May: L - Lay out your goals and priorities: Take some time to reflect on what you want to accomplish in May. Set clear and achievable goals to guide your actions. E - Evaluate your progress: Look back at what you’ve achieved so far and learn from your experiences. Use this insight to plan your approach for the new month. A - Act decisively: Don’t delay. Don’t hesitate. Act now! Break down your tasks into smaller steps and commit to making progress every day. D - Delegate tasks: Recognize that you don’t have to do everything alone. Delegate tasks where possible and leverage the strengths of your team. A new month is an opportunity to make significant strides towards our aspirations. Walk the Talk in May!

🚀 What a rollercoaster last week has been! From the buzz at MilCIS and navigating tender proposals to tackling family medical challenges, I can definitely say a bit of downtime this weekend was essential, well, as much "downtime" as you can get with a 3.5-year-old and a 2-month-old at home! 😂 Reflecting on last week, there were some valuable takeaways and exciting insights: The Power of Wireless Testing in Military Communications: As our digital infrastructure expands, so does the demand for bandwidth and network density. Understanding and testing wireless bands are critical, especially in military contexts, to ensure efficient electromagnetic spectrum characterisation. This plays a pivotal role in modern military operations where reliability and adaptability are non-negotiable. Cross-Domain Solutions and Zero Trust: In today’s world, zero trust isn’t just a trend, it’s a necessity. Navigating cross-domain solutions within this framework reminded me how essential it is to maintain robust, secure, and seamless communication channels. Lessons from Kids: On a personal note, I was reminded that children often understand far more than we give them credit for. They might not express themselves perfectly, but they are always listening, so let’s ensure they’re tuning into positive and constructive things. Compassion and Perspective: Last but not least, life is complex. Between work, family, and friendships, everyone is carrying something we may not see. Let’s be kinder to ourselves and those around us, embracing empathy and a broader perspective. Here’s to facing another week in the ever-evolving world of digital infrastructure, with lessons learned and energy replenished (at least a little)! 💡

🌟 "I Resign": Embarking on a New Journey Aligned with My Core Values 🌟 📢 I resign. These two words are not just an announcement, but a declaration of alignment with my deepest values, reminiscent of the clarity and direction EOS Worldwide (Entrepreneurial Operating System) principles advocate for. After much reflection, I've decided to leave my position at ZBC - Zealand Business College, driven by the belief in finding the right seat where one's abilities and core values are in perfect harmony. It's been an enriching journey, yet the path ahead calls for a space where my contributions resonate more profoundly with my personal and professional ethos. 🌱 Fortuitously, I've been presented with an opportunity that feels like a tailor-made fit—an environment where the core values echo my own and where the essence of being the 'right person in the right seat' is not just understood but celebrated. 🔄 As I transition into this new role on June 1st, my commitment remains with my students at ZBC - Zealand Business College, ensuring their journey is unaffected by this change.
