The world needs wrestling. Wrestling is the human experience. Where grappling with opponents mirrors the struggles we face in our daily lives. Wrestling, therefore, stands as a timeless conduit for mining the depths of our past experiences and transforming them into catalysts for growth and self-discovery. My favorite quote: The "Man in the Arena" quote comes from a speech given by Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, in 1910. Here's the quote: "It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. In my experience, REALLY good, juicy, deep quality things are built over ridiculously long amounts of time and through anything but a straight line. Like caring, resilient, and healthy interpersonal relationships and teams. Like deep, meaningful, mutually beneficial, and respectful client and vendor partnerships. Like robust, easy to use, purpose-built operational software enabled with transformational AI 😉 Like personal and company reputations. None of these things are ever destined for perfection (and mistakes are most certainly made along the way) but, in my experience, the point is in the journey. The journey to find joy, fulfillment, and meaning in the daily practices of listening, dreaming, serving, connecting, engaging, collaborating, creating, iterating, forgiving, trying, failing, learning, laughing, and evolving (and if you are me, dressing up and dodging email lol). I’ve known Gary Jones and Evan Kuo for (what seems like) a ridiculously long amount of time. I always felt like I would work with both of them at some point in my career in senior living and that day is now here. Their individual commitments to senior living, kickin’ ass, and having fun have won my heart over for many years but seeing them become integrated into a company and team that I love dearly has proven more fulfilling that I could have imagined. ALIS is a software experience like nothing else. That can ONLY happen because it has a team that is like nothing else. PEOPLE matter. The WHY matters. The HOW matters. It is definitely not easy (or trendy) to sustain a deep commitment to quality and the long-term health of an industry, a company, its team, its clients, and its products. Nor is it for the faint of heart. But it’s certainly worth it. It's worth it to build out a place in time and space where people can grow as humans and professionals and connect as a team. It's worth it to be a part of clients’ dedication to their staff and residents and their commitment to evolving to support and empower both. It's worth it to see and experience the transformational effect of delivering awesome technology paired with heartfelt service to a deserving industry. I’m proud everyday of our WHOLE team at Medtelligent and now I’m happy to say that includes two more good and juicy humans. 🧡 💛 🦋 🦋
