Recent Changes in Sexual Harassment Legislation! Did you know there have been recent updates in UK sexual harassment laws designed to strengthen protections in the workplace. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new and why it matters for all of us. New Employer Duty to Prevent Harassment Employers now have a legal duty to take proactive steps to prevent sexual harassment at work. This goes beyond reacting to incidents; it means ensuring policies, training, and workplace culture actively discourage any form of harassment. Third-Party Harassment Liability If harassment occurs from a third party (like clients, customers, or contractors), employers may be liable if they haven’t taken reasonable steps to prevent it. This means we’re all entitled to a harassment-free workplace—no matter who the person is. Protection from Victimisation New measures make it even safer to report harassment, as further protections are now in place against victimisation. This ensures that employees can speak up without fear of retaliation. Why This Matters These updates emphasise that everyone deserves a safe, respectful workplace—and that includes protection from anyone, whether they're a colleague or a third party. THSP is committed to fully supporting our HR customers through these new regulations. We’re strengthening our policies and providing training to ensure that our work environment remains respectful and harassment-free. #Respect #Safety #Equality #NewLegislation

📉 Your organisation's bottom line or performance are not protected from incidents of sexual harassment "You might believe that incidences of sexual harassment in your organisation are isolated and infrequent episodes which do not affect the bottom line. Or worse, you may consider it an ‘unpleasant’ cost associated with employing people. The fact is, there’s a much larger cost of workplace sexual harassment to organisations than originally meets the eye and it’s the job of CEOs and senior leaders to take notice and introduce measures to address and avoid it. Morally, it’s the right thing to do for your people and your culture, but as of October 2024 and the introduction of the Workers Protection Act, it will also be your legal responsibility to actively prevent sexual harassment at work."
