📢 Breaking news! A company recently posted on social media that they hired a woman for a VP/GM role, touting their commitment to diversity and inclusion. They didn't do this for the right reasons, they did this to cover up their actions. ⤵ Behind the scenes, the same company has been accused of discrimination and lack of inclusivity by several employees who have spoken out, resulting in more employees leaving the company. It's important to remember that actions speak louder than words and that true commitment to diversity and inclusion requires more than just a social media post. Let's hold companies accountable for their actions and ensure that everyone is treated fairly in the workplace. #diversityandinclusion #employeerights #workplaceequality #hrcommunity #change #speakup #speakout #employees #letsconnect #recruiterlife #changetheworld

In our pursuit of unity and equal opportunities… As we address unconscious bias, workplace equality and diversity become our main allies. Maternity policies, equal pay, and flexible work arrangements (not only for mums!) are crucial, but just the beginning. True equality encompasses every aspect of the employee experience, including recognition and reward. Sadly, recognition is often overlooked due to factors like gender, position or age. Despite efforts to promote diversity and inclusion, instances arise where contributions and achievements may be disregarded, especially when team dynamics deteriorate and lead to biases or conflicts that overshadow rewarding individual contributions. However, recognizing and rewarding work experience is not only a matter of fairness; it's also integral to our broader goals of diversity and inclusion. By ensuring that every individual's expertise and efforts are valued and acknowledged, we cultivate a culture of trust, where people will feel safe to develop, creating a more equitable workplace and also harness the full potential of a diverse talent pool. Let's continue to raise our voices, challenge the status quo and strive for workplaces where recognition is truly about the individual, regardless of their surroundings. Let's create environments where every voice is heard, every contribution is celebrated, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive. #DiversityandInclusion #Equality #WokplaceEquality #InclusiveWorkplace #GenderEquality #EqualOpportunity #UnconsciousBias #WomeninBusiness #InclusiveLeadership

Creating a truly diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace requires a deep commitment and intentional action to ensure that everyone feels valued and supported—regardless of their abilities. From mindful hiring practices to addressing biases and inviting diverse perspectives, this recent Forbes article highlights three impactful ways to build an inclusive culture. In my view, we must go beyond checklists and actively design environments where physical and digital accessibility, along with inclusive communications—that use gender-neutral and unbiased language—are non-negotiable. Inclusion—and disability inclusion—isn’t just a feature of a strong DEI strategy, it is essential to creating a workplace where every individual can thrive and contribute meaningfully. At a time when close to 80% of global leaders see DEI as crucial to business success, let’s ensure that our approach to inclusion considers all dimensions of diversity. Let’s listen, adapt, and evolve to make sure no one is left behind. #DEI #DisabilityInclusion #WorkplaceCulture https://lnkd.in/dU4Rqxpn

Promoting equity and inclusivity in the workplace requires a multifaceted approach that addresses policies, practices, and organizational culture. Here are several strategies organizations and institutions can implement: 📌 Develop Inclusive Policies: Review existing policies and procedures to ensure they are inclusive and equitable. This includes policies related to recruitment, hiring, promotion, compensation, and benefits. 📌 Provide Diversity Training: Offer regular training and workshops on diversity, equity, and inclusion topics for all employees. These sessions can raise awareness of unconscious biases, foster empathy and understanding, and provide practical strategies for promoting inclusivity in the workplace. 📌 Establish Diverse Hiring Practices: Implement practices that promote diversity in recruitment and hiring processes. 📌 Create a Supportive Work Environment: Foster a culture of respect, acceptance, and belonging in the workplace. Encourage open communication, empathy, and mutual respect among employees. 📌 Promote Equal Opportunities for Advancement: Ensure that all employees have equal opportunities for career advancement and professional development. www.Kengenconsulting.com . . . . #DEIinBusiness #InclusiveLeadership #LearningCulture #EquitableWorkplace #DiversePerspectives #ProfessionalGrowth #AsianAmericanPride #CelebrateDiversity #InclusiveLeaders #DiversityTraining #EquityInAction #InclusiveWorkforce #LGBTQEquality #LoveIsLove #ProudToBeMe

Today, workplaces enable employees to show up as their whole selves, yet LGBTQIA+ employees often feel less safe. When employees don’t feel safe, companies are less agile and resilient to the internal and external disruption they face. How can companies ensure LGBTQIA+ employees feel welcome and safe at work? Here are five tips: 1. It’s not enough to have LGBTQIA+ representation in leadership — leaders should talk openly about their LGBTQIA+ experience. 2. Audit the onboarding experience — what messages are you sending? 3. Move beyond awareness with employee resource groups. 4. Ensure every employee has an inclusive leader. 5. Make sure to talk about LGBTQIA+ issues beyond Pride Month. Employers must go beyond having discrimination policies and create a workplace that truly supports diversity, equity, and inclusion. A workplace should be safe and welcoming for employees from all backgrounds, including the LGBTQIA+ community.
