If you're hiring offshore, few mistakes that I have seen in startups doing not focusing on soft skills, 1. To make things work, have virtual meetings to access communications skills specifically English, and interpersonal skills. 2. Trust is an issue, look for people who have worked with offshore companies already and have good reputable LinkedIn, For technical assessment don't go the traditional route of coding assignment through third party apps, Go for the relevant task that developer will be performing at the role. Look for a portfolio, or past project insights and problem solving. 3.
