On Saturday, I had the joy of taking my 10-year-old son to Yankee Stadium to watch his hero, Lionel Messi, play in the Inter Miami vs. NYCFC match. It was a moment we’d been anticipating for months—eight months to be exact, since that’s how early I booked our tickets (as a sidebar, I had to register as an official group sales agent in order to purchase these tickets, and round up a group of 17 other soccer fans willing to pay hefty prices in order to secure said tickets and that's a completely different story). As someone who has dedicated my career to live experiences and attractions, Saturday was a great reminder of how each little detail comes together to create a great experience.  From weather that cooperated brilliantly to the shockingly easy subway ride (Brooklyn to the Bronx is less than an hour?  It’s true!), to clear signage at the stadium, everything went off without a hitch. Even the stadium food was spot-on (the chicken tenders and fries came in a bucket that snapped onto a soda cup, sports fans – it was magic), making the entire day feel effortless and just plain enjoyable. When all elements align like this, it elevates the excitement of the live event, enhancing the emotional connection we have with the experience. Booking tickets months in advance is a commitment (and an expensive one), but when it’s for a once-in-a-lifetime moment—seeing Messi play in person—it's absolutely worth it. It’s a reminder of how crucial it is for those of us in the business to ensure every touchpoint, from planning to purchase to the on-site experience, is as smooth as possible. When everything works together, the magic of live entertainment becomes unforgettable. Seeing the joy on my son's face made it all worth it—and reminded me of the power of what we do in this industry. #liveforthelive #nycfc #attractionsmarketing
