𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗢𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀? In the world of digital advertising, using the same creative for too long can lead to something called “ad fatigue.” This is when your audience starts ignoring your ads because they’ve seen them too often. Here’s a quick guide to know when it’s time to refresh: • Every 4-6 Weeks 📅: For most ad campaigns, this is the sweet spot to keep things fresh. But it depends on how fast you’re reaching your audience. • High Frequency Rule 🚀: If your frequency hits 3-5+, consider a new creative. This indicates your audience is seeing the ad too often, which can lower engagement. • Declining CTR & Engagement Rates 📉: Notice your click-through rate or engagement is dropping? That’s a major signal your audience needs something new. • Seasonal or Trend-Based 🎉: Special events, trends, or seasons are perfect times to refresh and stay relevant. By keeping your ads fresh, you stay in front of your audience with content they actually want to engage with. Don’t wait until performance drops to make a change—proactively plan creative updates!

Why Relying on Just One Advertising Platform Is a Risk Explanation: - Depending solely on a single advertising platform can be risky for your business. Here are three reasons why diversifying is crucial: Platform Changes:- Platforms frequently update their algorithms, policies, and ad formats. A sudden change can impact your ad performance and disrupt your strategy. Diversifying helps mitigate the risk of being adversely affected by a single platform's changes. Audience Limitations:- No single platform reaches all potential customers. By limiting your ads to one platform, you might miss out on significant segments of your target audience who prefer other platforms. Expanding your reach across multiple channels maximizes visibility and engagement. Risk of Platform Issues:- Technical glitches, account suspensions, or policy violations on one platform can halt your advertising efforts. Diversification ensures that if one platform encounters issues, you still have active campaigns running on others. Call to Action: - To safeguard your advertising success and reach a broader audience, consider diversifying your ad strategy across multiple platforms. I’m not a big fan of industry benchmarks. I completely understand why some marketing teams want to understand where they sit among their peers, but the very nature of industry benchmarks can make them irrelevant to one brand’s individual marketing efforts. Because industry benchmarks are aggregated across dozens (or even hundreds) of samples, it’s almost impossible to account for the nuance required for an apt comparison. When looking at benchmarks for metrics like CTR, CPL, or conversion rate, those reports don’t always account for audience, creative, landing page content, brand recognition, etc… When having benchmarking conversations with clients, I always work with them to develop our own benchmarks based off of their existing data. - - - - - If you’ve found this insightful, I share the actual work I do to help my clients grow their paid media programs in my weekly newsletter. 📈 Before: Our Paid campaigns were good, but we knew they could be great. We were hitting our targets but not exceeding them. And in a world where good is often not good enough, we wanted more. 🚀 After: With a fine-tuned strategy, the results speak for themselves. We saw a killer increase in conversion value to $473K, all while maintaining our spend at $125K. That's the power of relentless optimization and knowing your audience inside out. What did we change? We leaned into audience insights, tweaked our creatives for maximum resonance, and optimized our bids for the best possible ROI. 🔧 The graph shows the journey. Those peaks and valleys are where we learned, iterated, and eventually soared. Your budget is important, but how you use it is what defines success.

Let’s get one thing straight: throwing more money at your ads isn’t going to save an all-over-the-place strategy. I see it all the time—businesses burning through their ad budgets with the belief that more spending equals more success. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t. 🔥 Small Budgets Can Pack a Punch: No, you don’t need a bottomless bank account to get results. What you need is a razor-sharp understanding of your audience and a message that hits home. You have to know your audience the same way a girl's best friend knows her friend's grocery store crush's life history. I've seen small campaigns with killer targeting crush the competition. It's not about how much you spend—it's about how smart you spend it. 🔥 Clicks Are Vanity; Conversions Are Sanity: Stop obsessing over click counts. They’re the vanity metrics of the ad world. What you should be laser-focused on are the actions that drive your business forward—conversions, sales, the stuff that pays the bills. A thousand clicks mean nothing if they don't lead to paying clients. 💡 Quick Win: Next time you’re reviewing your ad performance, dig deeper. Look beyond the surface stats. The moolah is your focus. ⚡ Sound Off: What’s the biggest ad myth that’s ever burned you? Drop your story below—let’s vent! #socialmediamarketing #advertising

When the ROI of a campaign is positive, it doesn’t not mean you should spend more You could be wasting money 😳 Wuut? 👀 How? The campaign with a positive ROI might ▹ have a small audience which means you’re just reaching the same people more times with your ad. So you’ll either annoy them or they just start to ignore your ads because it’s not new and shiny to them anymore. ▹ might start to reach people who would never convert because not everybody is your ideal customer. When you change your budgets, you enter different auctions for different groups of people. So you spend more and it might bring down your ROI but is it having an effect on your top line revenue? This is why understanding incrementality is SO important. When you start incrementality testing, you start to understand the value of your marketing activities And it’s way easier to know how much you should be spending on marketing. In last week’s poll 86% of you said that you shouldn’t always scale if the ROI is positive so my curious question is - what other factors do you look at? Are you in the incrementality game? Let’s chat about it below ⬇️ #performancemarketing #campaignoptimization #campaignstrategy #paidsocial #paidsocialmedia #incrementalitytesting

“Paid ads get instant results” is a sales tactic. This is only possible if… - You have the right offer - You have an existing audience - You have a large enough budget The reality is for most small businesses starting their marketing: Month 1: Test for ideal audience + creatives/funnel Month 2: Keep testing while building a warm audience Month 3: Change and renew what doesn’t work Month 4: You have a strong enough warm audience to get a sustainable ROI and be popular for your ideal customer profile Don’t fall for the trap. Find an ads guy you can trust. (I might know just the guy for you😉)
