Veronica Anthony FCIPD’s Post

As 2024 comes to a close, I want to take a moment to celebrate my POD team - a group as diverse as they are #amazingatAvante. From Gen Z and Gen Y to Baby Boomers, from part-timers to full-timers, working in-office, hybrid, or fully remote - this team makes it work. Their flexibility and dedication are what help turn vision into reality, and I’m incredibly grateful for each one of them. We often hear about people leaving organisations or teams, but we don’t talk enough about those who stay despite the odds - the ones who stick around through the challenges, those who push and cheer leaders forward, and keep showing up to make progress possible. We’ve weathered storms together this year. There have been moments of laughter, but also tough conversations - because true progress and culture change isn’t always comfortable. I work really hard, and I have high standards because I believe in excellence. I know I keep my team on their toes, but they do the same for me. They challenge me to think creatively, to adjust, and to keep finding ways for us to grow together. They constantly remind me to take it easy and look after myself. For me, attitude, trust, values and loyalty matter more than years of experience on a CV. Skills can be learned, but a great mindset and commitment are priceless. That’s what my team brings every day. What makes us special is how we navigate our differences - different working patterns, different life stages, and different challenges. Almost all of us have faced personal hurdles this year (we have our beautiful scars as I like to refer to them). We’ve cried in the office and carried burdens, but we’re still standing - and thriving. These photos of us from last week might look like everything is always smooth sailing, but they’re a testament to something more powerful: we keep going. Through highs and lows (including mentally-exhausting work situations), we show up for each other, and we show up for the work. To my team: thank you for everything. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together. Here’s to celebrating the people who make it all happen.
