At Verdian, we join in the celebration of World Environment Day. This year, the focus is on restoring degraded lands and strengthening resilience against droughts. Up to 40% of the planet's land areas are degraded, affecting half of the world's population. If we do not act, droughts could impact three-quarters of the global population by 2050. This year's theme, "Our Lands. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration," reminds us that we can plant new forests, revitalise water sources, and restore soils. #VerdianPower #WorldEnvironmentDay

Today June 5th is World Environment Day. 🌍 In 2024, this date focuses on Ecosystem Restoration. 🌲🌳🌴Due to degradation, desertification and drought, this triple planetary crisis threatens to destroy our home and eliminate millions of species with which we share this beautiful planet. Planet Earth has been here way before humankind. Whilst our generation is not the first to discover her suffering, we are in midst of experiencing it. And we could be the last generations that could see her lands revived. 👉🏽 We have an obligation as habitants of the Earth: to restore her lands for future generations. At ten23 health, we are taking action for restoration. We are members of the cooperative The Generation Forest, where we support the reforestation of tropical forests in Panama. We are #GenerationRestoration since the founding of our company! Find out what can you do to support reforestation with this guide from the United Nations: https://lnkd.in/eY_hTtDM #ten23health #WorldEnvironmentDay #Reforestation #SavethePlanet #SaveOurShip #Planet #Purpose #GenerationRestoration United Nations United Nations Global Compact

Happy world environment day 2024. This year's celebration is focused on Land restoration, Halting desertification, and Building drought resilience. All over the world, ecosystems are threatened. Forest, drylands, farmlands and lakes and all natural spaces in which humanity existence depends are reaching a tipping point. Only about 29% of the total surface of the earth is land. In that 29% of land, only 71% is habitable. In that 71%, of habitable land, 40% is degraded, which directly affects half of the world's population. It is our duty to rise up for the protection and revival of ecosystems all round the world. If we don't do it, nobody will for us. Our land, Our FUTURE. #GenerationRestoration #WorldEnvironmentDay2024 #desertification #landrestoration #DroughtResilience #secceprogram

Urban forests provide numerous benefits beyond carbon sequestration, including reduced energy bills, improved quality of life, resilience to storms, job creation, and air quality benefits. The City of Trees Challenge, led by The Nature Conservancy in Idaho, aims to plant an urban tree for every household in Boise, Idaho and a forest seedling for every resident by 2030— approximately 100,000 trees in the city and 235,000 seedlings in nearby forests. Just this spring, they successfully achieved the milestone of planting 235,000 seedlings in the nearby fire-impacted Boise National Forest, marking a significant step toward their ambitious goal! 🎉 Learn more about how this project is a national model for climate action: https://lnkd.in/eHRZjuzN #NaturalClimateSolutions #ClimateAction #UrbanForests
