More vegetables, please 🍎 When our Health Promotion Consultant, Pernille, is not busy advising and helping ships and shipping companies implement health onboard, she does a great job nudging her colleagues to eat more fruits and vegetables at work. Last month, she launched an initiative to eat more greens and fruit and embrace healthier eating habits. For instance, she has served small plates with delicious grapes, tomatoes, carrots, etc., for all her colleagues. For her, it is only natural that SEA HEALTH & WELFARE implement such healthy initiatives in their office. "If we believe that health should be prioritized onboard, we also have to implement measures ourselves to promote healthy foods and challenge our own health culture to see what it takes to change our own habits towards a healthier lifestyle," says Pernille. Always feel free to reach out to Pernille, if you are interested in what SEA HEALTH & WELFARE can assist you with regarding health onboard. 🍅 Check out our website for inspiration for a healthier diet and nutrition. https://lnkd.in/d5Bw75V3

Hello Health and Wellness Industry... Over the weekend I discovered Fern Street, a West Palm Beach, FL restaurant that has a "farm-to-table commitment." They get their beef from the local, Florida farm Ranchers Reserve. Who promises a start-to-finish Okeechobee Florida pasture raised Wagyu Beef & Berkshire Pork. I get so excited about things like quality food and holistic health products and services! It's one reason why I started my podcast, Holistic Health Heroes... so I could connect with other health conscious people. This has been a part of my life for as long as I can recall. In my first job after college my colleagues nicknamed me "Granola." 😉 Last week I also had a great conversation with Kevin Zurek about my niche in marketing. He encouraged me to lean into this even more. It's something I've been dabbling with for some time now. If we have spoken recently, maybe you've already heard me say it. But there's leaning in and then there's choosing to make it a central focus. My goal is to serve the businesses I value (those in the biohacking, holistic health industry) with the amazing marketing services we can provide. Who better to help your business grow, than someone who truly values what you do as a business? #holistichealth #marketing #biohacking

This week I will address 5 solutions to consider for challenges related to limited food resources in healthcare. I will focus on each of the individual concepts throughout the week. 1. Farm-to-Hospital Program The Farm-to-Hospital program is a transformative initiative that brings locally sourced, fresh meals to healthcare settings, enhancing both flavor and nutrition for patients. By partnering with nearby farms, hospitals can improve meal quality, tackle food supply chain issues, and support local economies. Research shows that fresh, seasonal foods can accelerate recovery, reduce hospital stays, and lower healthcare costs. Educating hospital staff on these benefits empowers them to advocate for this change, fostering a healthier environment for patients. This program also ignites important discussions about healthcare priorities, positioning hospitals as leaders in health innovation and community wellness. Ultimately, the Farm-to-Hospital program enriches the patient experience and builds stronger community ties, paving the way for a healthier, more sustainable future in healthcare. We were glad to have attended the Livelong Summit held at the Palm Beach Convention Center this weekend. There was a great speaker lineup that went in-depth about the current longevity research and challenged our current perspectives on aging, chronic disease, and lifestyle. Many questions were explored such as: What is aging? By what mechanisms does aging happen? How can we track biological aging? Etc. We were especially grateful to have met and heard Michael Greger, M.D. founder of NutritionFacts.org speak. He’s made the complicated topic of evidence-based nutrition easily accessible, digestible, and actionable to all. Take home messages from the summit: 🔹Only 25% of our longevity is attributable to our genetics 🔹The biggest impacts on longevity continue to be adopting healthy lifestyle factors: don’t smoke, eat a healthy unprocessed diet consisting primarily of plant based foods, minimize alcohol intake, exercise regularly, sleep sufficiently, and build and maintain healthy social connections. 🔹“Genetics can load the gun but lifestyle pulls the trigger.” - Dr. Michael Greger 🔹“Every calorie I take in must justify its existence.” - Bryan Johnson 🔹”Mastering the basics is a power law to health and wellness.” - Bryan Johnson 🔹Master lifestyle factors first.

When we're talking about logistics, food is tough because of how perishable it is. So, what's even better than moving food between regions? Developing ecosystem partners who can serve their local communities. Without all the complexity. We're excited to be able to highlight this work at ShareMy.Health.

It was an honor to join Kestria’s Global C-Suite Roundtable as a panelist, where we discussed a topic that’s incredibly close to my heart: Health and Wellness Trends: Adapting to the new consumer demand for well-being. Today’s consumers are increasingly mindful of their choices, seeking alignment with their personal values. As a result, transparency in product sourcing and ingredients has become crucial for health-oriented consumers who prioritize wellbeing, ethics, and environmental impact. With growing awareness of how products impact both health and the environment, consumers now demand more clarity from brands. Health and wellness are no longer optional for businesses—they are fundamental expectations from today’s consumers. Adapting to this shift is not just timely; it’s transformative. And, this evolving landscape presents a significant opportunity for businesses to capitalize on these trends by offering healthier, more sustainable options, positioning themselves as leaders in a market driven by health, sustainability, and conscious consumerism. A big thank you to Stepan Motejzik and Katerina Meimaroglou for providing this platform and facilitating such engaging discussions with my fellow panelists, Saurabh Jain, Andréa Moura, Antonis Salevourakis, Rosmer Jurado and Cristobal Yuraszeck. #HealthAndWellness #Consumertrends #Wellbeing #Sustainability #ConsciousConsumerism #NGCInternationalAdvisory #APCO

It’s been a whirlwind at work, but I’m excited to finally share my experience at the Asia Pacific Population Health Conference and the 2nd Asia Pacific Social Prescribing Conference (28–29 Nov 2024). I was proud to be able to share a poster on EAT-Lite, a digital tool co-created by MOHT, SUTD, and URA to simplify the Environmental Audit Tool (EAT). Designed to enhance built environments, EAT-Lite supports healthier, age-friendly neighborhoods by assessing key factors such as mobility, lighting, and accessibility. Through Community Improvement Walks (CIWs), EAT-Lite empowers residents to co-create solutions and work with stakeholders to improve their neighborhoods. It’s a key part of the Healthy Precinct Framework, which promotes health across the domains of Care & Support, Community, and Environment. Implemented in six precincts, with feedback from 171 residents and over 200 facilitators from various government and non-government organizations, EAT-Lite is already driving meaningful change. I’m excited about its potential to scale further, aligning with initiatives like embedding dementia-friendly features and supporting national plans. Grateful for the opportunity to share this work and for the collective effort that’s making healthier, more inclusive communities a reality. #AsiaPacificPopulationHealth #SocialPrescribing #EATLite #HealthyPrecincts #CommunityHealth
