The latest European sea basin factsheets are out! Based on the baseline studies commissioned in 2021. 👉 Access the resources here: https://lnkd.in/d6a7HbpQ 🔍 Why are these useful? Because they provide: 1. Indicators for Monitoring Progress: The baseline studies created the initial set of indicators that will be pivotal in tracking the progress of the Mission objectives across the four Mission Lighthouse areas. 2. Governance Structures and Citizen Engagement Frameworks: An in-depth collection of data on existing governance frameworks and ongoing initiatives for citizen engagement, providing an overview of current efforts and areas for improvement. 3. Alignment with Smart Specialisation Strategies: An assessment of how well the existing strategies are aligned with the Mission objectives.

Geoscience Australia has completed its first regional hydrogeological assessment of the Kati Thanda - Lake Eyre Basin in central Australia. This work signifies the first catchment-scale assessment of the region’s vitally important shallow groundwater resources, and is a major part of the Exploring for the Future program's National Groundwater Systems project. Working across boundaries in SA, NSW, the NT and QLD, the assessment has produced new hydrogeological insights and enhanced knowledge of fundamental groundwater systems and processes. Specifically, the major Cenozoic depositional centres of the Callabonna and Tirari sub-basins, as well as the Cooper Creek Palaeovalley. The results of this investigation illustrate the value of regional hydrogeological assessments, providing greater access to quality data to improve the management and decision-making of Australia's major groundwater systems. The knowledge of log signature of source rocks, cap rocks and reservoir formations help in precise identification and characterization of these formations. In order to make available the log signature of these formations, doctor André DJOÏ proposes an integrated technique of determination of these paramaters and applies it to Benin's Coastal Sedimentary Basin formations at the block 1 scale. It put the approach in open source through his new article entitled Statistical Approach to Gamma Ray Signature of Clean Shales, Limestones and Sandstones: Case Study of Benin's Coastal Sedimentary Basin. Kindly see below the link to get access to this article. © Dr. André DJOÏ https://lnkd.in/eWBcdGSD

Join us for our next technical luncheon taking place on May 7 from 11:45- 1:00 pm at the Calgary Petroleum Club. Integrated Sustainability will be presenting on Drought Adaptation Planning - Strategic Water Sourcing: 6 Alternatives for Basin Shutdowns. Practical implementation strategies to proactively tailor operations for adaptability in the face of imminent drought conditions. Alberta and British Columbia are expected to experience severe drought conditions in the spring and summer of 2024, with water scarcity challenges predicted well into 2025. Water availability across several basins will be limited, and diversion restrictions for new allocations will likely be established. If your operations heavily rely on surface water, it's crucial to develop alternative plans in the event of prolonged drought conditions leading to basin closures. This presentation will provide an overview of six strategic water sourcing alternatives to prepare for basin shutdowns.
