A clean data environment can prevent financial institutions from investing in products and/or services they already offer and/or that might not be relevant to their members and customers. I share more thoughts on this topic in Finopotamus. #cleandata #data #techgaps

I disagree with some of the current discussions surrounding personal ASNs and would like to present a counterargument. First, the perception that personal ASNs are "run by children" is simply incorrect. We need to recognize that not every institutional ASN manages massive networks or large IP blocks like /16. The real issue here isn’t personal ASNs themselves but rather the malicious individuals or companies that misuse them. The responsibility for the mistakes of personal or institutional networks lies with the network operator above them! Furthermore, I don't agree with the claim that personal ASNs hinder IPv6 deployment. On the contrary, they help promote broader adoption of IPv6. While DN42 may be seen as a playground for experimentation, people don’t obtain ASNs in the real world just for fun. Managing an ASN comes with significant responsibilities for network management and operations. Therefore, I believe that personal ASNs should be distinguished from bad actors, and these resources play a crucial role in shaping the future of the internet. RIPE NCC #OpenHouse #PersonelASNs #ASN
Over the past few weeks a couple of RIPE Labs articles caused a lot of discussion and debate on different channels. The two articles, written by community members, cover opposing views on the use of personal ASNs on the Internet.
