The California Board of Pharmacy wants to restrict your access to crucial health-supporting compounds like glutathione, B12, and NAD. Why? Because they can. No public discourse. No stakeholder input. No consideration for the thousands of Californians who rely on these treatments. This isn't about safety. These compounds have extensive research backing their efficacy and safety profiles. This is about CONTROL. At Stark, we see firsthand how these treatments support our clients' health journeys. They're vital tools in our comprehensive approach to peak health and longevity. You deserve: - Access to evidence-based treatments - The right to make informed decisions about your health - Protection from unchecked regulatory overreach The Board of Pharmacy's proposed restrictions would limit your healthcare options and set a concerning precedent for future regulations. Join me in opposing these restrictions. Contact your local representatives. Make your voice heard. The time to act is now. By choosing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to direct federal health policy, Donald Trump has placed ideology ahead of science. But public health advocates should not be lured into this trap. Fluoridation is not a partisan issue — and it never has been. Fluoridation policies have been signed into law by both Republican and Democratic governors and mayors. Two of the last three states to adopt fluoridation laws had Republican governors. Public health advocates must resist the temptation to talk about fluoride in partisan-style language. Let’s remind the public that U.S. Surgeons General have regularly expressed support for fluoridation regardless of the party of the president who appointed them. Dr C. Everett Koop, appointed by President Reagan, was a vocal supporter of fluoridation who said, “You’re not healthy without good oral health.” Dr Regina Benjamin, appointed by President Obama, called fluoridation “a very cost-effective” strategy. A Republican dentist and close friend of mine recently told me, “I never asked my patients whether they were Republicans or Democrats. I wanted all of them to have healthy teeth that lasted a lifetime. And water fluoridation is a great way to help make that happen.” #publichealth #oralhealth #fluoridation #RFKjr #healthpolicy #prevention #healthcommunication #chronicdisease https://lnkd.in/eXQeAMvJ

Satisfied Patient(s) are our real strength... Doctor-Patient Trust Day is celebrated on March 17. This day is dedicated to the doctors who work to save lives by safeguarding the trust of their patients. Indeed, treating a patient means understanding the most personal aspects of their body and mind. People in healthcare are bound by the ethics of the medical profession to never disclose personal information about their patients. And, doctors are responsible for saving countless lives all over the world; they are responsible for healthcare — which is one of the most important trades in our world. Without proper developments in the medical field, the human population would have been reduced by more than half. #DoctorPatientTrustDay #NationalVaccinationDay #DrSureshKPandeyKota #SuViEyeHospitalKota #DrVidushiSharmaKota

❤️ this - for recognizing that the absence of disease alone does not keep people healthy, for drawing attention to access to equitable health care as a fundamental challenge for #rural Americans, for highlighting the potential of innovation involving interprofessional collaboration for solutions, for the use of graphic illustration for #storytelling. These are all things we work on at the National Rural Telementoring Training Center and HSC Center for Health Policy. #ruralhealth #healthpolicy #wholehealth #workforcedevelopment
There are many upstream environmental factors that contribute to the health and well-being of patients. Access to care is one of the most important, and interprofessional solutions to address this challenge are sorely needed. Help elevate and celebrate National Interprofessional Healthcare Month #IPHC by reacting, commenting, and reposting! This image comes from "BREATHE: An Illustrated Case Study," co-authored with Ed Portillo and beautifully drawn by George Folz. Breathe tells the story of an older adult from a rural farming community whose health deteriorates as he forgoes care due to the burden of driving to and from his medical appointments. From: Portillo EC, Ho T, de Villiers MM, Zorek JA. Chapter 2: Community Pharmacy. In: Zorek JA. Interprofessional Practice in Pharmacy: Featuring Illustrated Case Studies. New York, NY: McGraw-Hill; 2021:17-43. George Folz Melgardt (Mel) De Villiers

Thank you to KEZI 9 ABC News in Eugene and reporter Jennifer Singh for covering this story of the untold number of Oregon Medical Group patients who are being told to seek care elsewhere following OMG's acquisition by Optum. As the news anchor states, "According to Eugene State Representative Nancy Nathanson reports of Oregon Medical Group is a symptom of a greater problem affecting Oregonians, the corporate purchasing of local healthcare providers, which she says is 'especially affecting people in Lane County.'" Rep. Nathanson goes on to say that "the amount of doctors leaving OMG and patients being impacted by their departures in Lane County is not an isolated situation." Additionally, Rep. Nathanson says, "Business practices, that she suspects OMG owner Optum is using, could create an even worse crisis in Oregon and Lane County. Work can be done at the Legislative level to reverse business practices that impact patients, especially reversing non-compete agreements that prevent doctors who leave OMG from practicing on patients after they've left." Health Care for All Oregon (HCAO) is looking forward to working with Rep. Ben Bowman, Rep. Nathanson, and others who will stand up for Oregonians in demanding that patient care be prioritized over profit motives. #consolidation #CPOM #PrivateEquity #access #quality #healthcrisis #Oregon #Eugene #Optum https://lnkd.in/gRk64kGr

Colleagues and Friends, Utibe R. Essien, MD, MPH defines that "Pharmacoequity", a term he coined in 2021, is achieved when each individual, regardless of race and ethnicity or socioeconomic status, has the resources and access to the highest quality evidence-based medications required to manage their health needs. On March 13th Noon-1 PM EST, the HSR&D Cyberseminar session will highlight the barriers and facilities to Pharmacoequity that exist in our healthcare systems and areas in which there are observed racial and ethnic disparities in prescriptions for newer evidence-based treatments. Please join us as we learn together from Utibe R. Essien, MD, MPH on "Achieving Pharmacoequity: A Prescription for Health Justice". We'll also share some highlights on how #VHA is working towards achieving Pharmacoequity.
