Sweden has officially inaugurated its first large-scale agrivoltaic park, marking a major step toward integrating renewable energy with sustainable agriculture. The 6MW park, developed by Svea Solar, spans 13 hectares and produces electricity for a local vertical farming company while allowing crops like rapeseed, ley, and wheat to grow beneath the solar panels. This project highlights the potential of agrivoltaics to support clean energy and local food production. CREC continues to make strides as its pioneering AgroSolar Initiative takes another recognition as Community Involvement Programme of the Year - APAC in the Environmental Finance Sustainable Company Awards 2024. With a definitive pipeline of renewable energy projects towards its 5-gigwatt in 5 years goal, CREC's dual land-use approach through AgroSolar aims to lessen the impact that solar power can have on farmland and agricultural demands. "We recognize that the need for rapid greenfield development of solar plants must go hand-in-hand with uplifting communities that might otherwise be displaced," said Oliver Tan at Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation. The Environmental Finance Sustainable Company Awards recognizes best practice and innovation in corporate sustainability, and is overseen by a panel of independent industry judges. 🌞🌍🔌 We're thrilled to announce the completion of another successful Solarge project! 🌞🌍🔌 Our latest installation features 248 Solarge SOLO solar panels on the roof of the Voedselbank Amsterdam distribution center, providing #EndlessEnergy for their operations. This project was made possible by the lightweight and PFAS-free design of our panels, which were installed by Groene-Woningen and supported by the mounting structure of RABLE. The distribution center faced a unique challenge due to its construction limitations, but our Solarge panels were the perfect solution. With our lightweight panels, we were able to overcome these challenges and provide the Voedselbank with a reliable source of renewable energy. We're proud to support the Vereniging van Nederlandse Voedselbanken in their mission to provide food for those in need.
