🌞 Harnessing Renewable Energy on Farms: A Sustainable Future Awaits! 🌾 The integration of renewable energy into agricultural practices represents a significant step toward a sustainable future. As the CEO of the Irish Solar Energy Association (ISEA), I'm excited to discuss this topic at the upcoming Energy and Farm Diversification Show, where I'll be presenting and joining a panel discussion on 'Harnessing Renewable Energy on Farms.'🚜🌱 Key Points: Negligible Impact: Only 0.2% of farmland needed for solar targets. Positive Opportunities: Onsite solar (rooftop) = reduced energy costs, and utility scale offers income diversification. Challenges: Land use review for multiple uses. Refinement of TAMS design. Strengthening network infrastructure. Agrisolar's Potential: We need a strong policy framework to support this innovative approach. Sustainable Future: No pathway to sustainability without agriculture. Join the discussion and discover how renewable energy can transform agriculture!🌍✨ https://lnkd.in/g5zA9vXE #RenewableEnergy #Agriculture #Sustainability #SolarEnergy #Agrisolar #FarmDiversification #ISEA

We're excited to announce that our light vehicle aluminum wheels plant in Chihuahua, Mexico, has its own solar farm! 🌞 The 499 kW photovoltaic system provided by Iberdrola México marks a key milestone in reducing our carbon footprint and advancing sustainable manufacturing. With an estimated 960 MWh generated annually, this project will cut CO2 emissions by approximately 420 tons per year – equal to planting 6,930 trees – and provide about 2% of the plant’s yearly energy needs. As part of our Roadmap Zero carbon-neutral strategy, this is Maxion’s third solar initiative, bringing us closer to our commitment to net-zero emissions by 2040. Arrabawn Partners with RedoxBlox , Climeaction, and VIOTAS to Launch Groundbreaking Heat Battery Technology in Ireland! On 22nd November 2023, a historic move marking a significant step forward in renewable energy utilisation in the food and dairy industry, Arrabawn has joined forces with Redoblox, Climeaction, and VIOTAS to introduce an innovative heat battery technology, a first of its kind both in Ireland and within the Food & Dairy sector globally. The RedoxBlox Thermochemical heat battery is a pioneering solution capable of storing excess electricity generated during peak renewable energy periods. It utilises a thermochemical redox reaction process to convert and store this energy as chemical and sensible heat energy, which can then be deployed as heat to replace fossil fuels. This technology has energy density on par with Li-Ion and 3-5x that of a state-of-the-art conventional heat battery. This technology also stands out for its ability to generate heat up to a maximum temperature of 1500 degrees Celsius. This multi-million-euro investment project is not just a leap in industrial heating and smart grid innovation in Ireland, but it also promises significant carbon savings. The project underlines Ireland's commitment to cutting-edge renewable energy solutions and sets a global precedent in the sustainable transformation of the food and dairy industry. #arrabawn #redoxblox #viotas

SINN Power, based in Gilching, is setting a benchmark with its pioneering floating photovoltaic (PV) project on a gravel pit lake, leveraging advanced Skip-Float technology. This innovation optimizes water surfaces for energy production, marking a new chapter in renewable energy. The project has been recognized by Bavarian Minister Hubert Aiwanger as a key contribution to the region’s energy transition. ⚡🌱 The Skip-Float system stands out with its vertical, East-West oriented bifacial modules, producing energy efficiently in the morning and evening without the traditional midday surge. This net-friendly approach helps mitigate grid strain, with 2,500 modules expected to generate over 2.0 GWh annually—powering the Jais gravel pit towards 65% energy autonomy. 🌍 Bavaria currently leads Germany in solar capacity, with over one million systems generating approximately 24.8 GW of power. This dedication to advancing solar innovation prioritizes sustainable development, aiming to expand photovoltaic installations on artificial lakes while preserving valuable agricultural land. Adjustments to environmental policies could further support the practical use of water bodies for energy generation, optimizing both efficiency and ecological balance. 💡 More about green energy in Bavaria: https://lnkd.in/dCbVeHKR Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Landesentwicklung und Energie Image credit: Elke Neureuther/StMWi #CleanEnergy #SolarPower #bytevaria
