Recently I was invited by the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka 🇳🇬 to address the 300 Level Students at the Entrepreneurship Day Celebration 2024. Below is a short video summary of the outing.

This is what #changing #lives mean!! When you talk about #entrepreneurship in most African #universities, why do people's mind immediately go to the #students? What about #lecturers? Dont they also need entrepreneurship? Well if I went to a #Vice #Chancellor (VC) and told him/her that I wanted to train all their lecturers to become entrepreneurs, he/she would most likely pursue me away. Only few VCs wants their staff to #lecture and run a #business. But if I said, let me train all your #academics to have an #entrepreneurial #mindset, now that's a different. Because having an entrepreneurial mindset would affect every action they take and impact their careers and especially the lives of their students. Well, this is exactly what we have done. It's exciting to be managing the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO)-funded and Lancaster University-led project on enhancing career development and entrepreneurship for Nigerian universities. The last eight weeks for the #Stimulating #Entrepreneurial #Thinking in #Scientists (#SSETS) for staff/lecturers has been tintilating as over 200 academics, coordinators and coaches from 14 universities have been truly impacted. A really cool thing about this program on top of the impact on academics is that the #government #regulatory #body for all universities in Nigeria, the National Universities Commission (NUC) chair the Steering Committee of the program. The idea is to make the program mandatory for all lecturers in Nigeria - this is the vision. Don't take my word for it and so let's hear from the participants shall we? At the Universities South Africa ‘s 3rd Higher Education Conference with the conference theme of ‘The Future of the University’ at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) . The World of Work Strategy hosted two sessions on entrepreneurship: 1. The entrepreneurial Work-integrated Learning and 1. The role of universities and looking at entrepreneurship and sustainability.

Today, we are pleased to welcome approximately 25 lecturers, educators and trainers from Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Germany to a three-day training on Entrepreneurship Education at the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki. The training programme has been developed jointly by all the project partners and will reflect different entrepreneurship education competences and pedagogical approaches that the partnership has analysed as being less often included in entrepreneurship education programmes, following the value-based creation process. The aim of this training is to equip lecturers and educators from various disciplines with the skills to teach entrepreneurial thinking and action and to apply entrepreneurial methods in their courses. Ultimately, students should develop an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset and skills that enable them to turn their ideas into value for others.
