Have you ever had the awkward 'You're overqualified for this role' conversation? It’s tricky. On paper, they’re a perfect match—but deep down, you know they won’t stay. Overqualified candidates often apply when the market is tight or the role seems like an easy next step, but this mismatch creates a ripple effect: poor retention, lower morale, and wasted time. At VAAAS, we’ve mastered the art of turning these situations into opportunities. Here’s how we would approach it: ✅Keep them in the loop: Overqualified doesn’t mean irrelevant. We keep these candidates in the talent pool, ensuring they’re first in line when the perfect role comes up. ✅Fine-tune job postings: Clear, well-crafted descriptions set expectations upfront, reducing mismatches. ✅Screen with precision: Early alignment checks save you time and energy, so you’re only reviewing candidates who truly fit. ✅Personalised redirection: We engage overqualified candidates respectfully, keeping relationships warm for future opportunities. Follow us for smarter, more efficient recruitment strategies tailored to your needs. #CandidateExperience #RecruitmentSolutions #RecruitmentStrategy

Inviting candidates to apply for a job makes them feel personally sought after and significantly increases their likelihood of submitting an application. Specifically, the probability is 17 times higher compared to candidates who merely stumble upon the job listing through a search. This difference can be attributed to several factors: - A direct invitation can convey that the candidate’s skills and background have been recognized as a good fit, boosting their confidence and interest in the role. - It reduces the noise and competition from other job listings that candidates might encounter during their search, making your offer stand out more. Lastly, an invitation can create a sense of urgency and exclusivity, prompting quicker action from potential applicants. - By targeting specific candidates and inviting them to apply, employers can significantly increase application rates, making the hiring process more efficient and potentially raising the quality of the applicant pool. 💡 To All Recruiters: Results Speak Louder Than References 💡 At Everyday People Inc., we’ve spent years hiring, training, and leading top-performing recruitment teams. If you’re considering joining our team or hiring recruiters for your own, here’s one of our core principles: talk is cheap, but results are everything. When hiring recruiters, we go beyond traditional reference checks. While references provide essential context, we also focus on verifying actual placements. A successful recruiter should be able to point to specific examples of candidates they’ve helped place—and those candidates should be ready to vouch for the recruiter’s role in their success. This isn’t about replacing reference checks; it’s about complementing them with proof of performance. Your track record of helping candidates secure great roles is your strongest asset as a recruiter. We’re always looking for recruiters who deliver real results and build meaningful connections. Let's talk if you’re ready to join a team where your hard work will be recognized and valued. 🌍 #RecruitmentTips #ResultsMatter #HiringExcellence #EverydayPeopleInc #JoinOurTeam

This post on our company page reminded me of one of my favorite hiring strategies for recruiters: ask for references from the candidates they’ve placed. It’s a powerful way to move beyond the surface and understand a recruiter’s real impact. Traditional references from old friends or colleagues often don’t give me the full picture I need—like how the recruiter treated their candidates, how well they prepared them for interviews, or how they initially connected (e.g., a referral). Asking placed candidates these questions often reveals whether the recruiter delivers value or talks a good game. Recruitment leaders, this is a must-try! #recruiting #references #offshorehiring

"I haven't recruited for that type of position before, but I've recruited technical roles for many years, so I think I can handle it." That was part of the conversation I had with a new client. I think if you've been successful placing people in technical roles, you can pretty much handle anything. 🙂 We had a very transparent conversation. Told him the approach I would take to finding candidates, types of companies and backgrounds I would target and some of the recruiting tools I would use. Talked about our fee structure and guarantee. Not salesy, no over the top promises, just a great straightforward conversation. He thought it was fair pricing and agreed to move forward. We started the search and followed the interview process we discussed. Offer made about 4-5 weeks later. After doing this for many years, these types of conversations become much easier. #recruiting #talentacquisition #techrecruiting
