Just because your plans are written as mission → vision → strategy → roadmap → execution, doesn’t mean thats the order you invent/write those things. Often you start with drafts and ping-pong as your ideas are refined through the intersection with reality.

👋 Recently, I found myself needing to explain what my new 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘉𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵 is all about. Trying to put it simply, I thought: “How can I make strategic thinking understandable?” Then, an idea came to mind: Strategic thinking is like building with Legos. When building something, you start with a clear vision of what you want to create. You don’t just focus on each piece in isolation. You’re thinking steps ahead, planning how each piece connects to the bigger picture. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀: 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, “𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿?”. It’s about making smart, well-planned moves that steadily guide you toward your goals. Strategic thinking doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s about simplifying decisions, seeing the bigger picture, and moving forward with purpose. —> If you want focus, clarity, and peace of mind to make confident decisions, prioritize, and move forward with direction, my 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘤 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘉𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵 can help.

Put simply, strategic reasoning is a data-driven hypothesis about the best actions that match a situation and goals: the rationale and the basis for it. “Because of X, our strategy is to become Y to ultimately achieve Z, and now our plan includes doing L & Q to put it in motion.” If it is simply, “L & Q were requested so we’re doing L & Q,” that’s a valid operational fulfillment of a specific request and requirement that’s being executed: it's a plan and a project. But that narrative content leaves out strategic framing and logical context unless and until you can bring back the earlier part of the original rationale—the why behind the course of action and the underlying strategy behind the plan. And retaining that rationale and its goals helps keeps strategy and execution well-matched across a lifecycle—and across the multiple contributors to its ultimate success. #strategy #designstrategy #productdesign #userexperience
