🗺️#MAPS: How many Brazilians live in Asia? (UPDATED)
As of 2023, Brazil's Foreign Affairs Ministry reported that approximately 4.4 million Brazilians were living abroad, and they are an adventurous bunch! Around 5 percent of the expat community chose Asia as their new home.
Among the vibrant Asian destinations, Japan steals the spotlight, hosting a significant portion of this community. Nagoya emerges as the hub with 120,340 Brazilians crafting their lives against the backdrop of cherry blossoms. Tokyo follows suit, boasting 55,760 residents — a tad less than the previous year, and Hamamatsu, home to 30,890 Brazilians.
Beyond the Land of the Rising Sun, China secures its spot as the second most-favored destination in Asia, welcoming 5,940 Brazilians, a number slightly lower than the previous year.
But let's explore the lesser-known territories, where a handful of Brazilians have set up their little corner of Brazil. From the vast landscapes of Kazakhstan with 170 compatriots to the Himalayan tranquility of Nepal with a community of 70, and the vibrant streets of Pakistan with 40 Brazilians, it's heartwarming to discover that there's a touch of Brazil almost everywhere in this vast world. 🌎🇧🇷
