This morning, Deputy Under Secretary Eric Morrissette visited the Manhattan and Brooklyn Business Center, and CRP awardee, the Business Outreach Center (BOC) Network. Both partners help MBEs by providing them with the resources, capital, technical assistance, and networking opportunities they need. Deputy Under Secretary Morrissette participated in a roundtable discussion with the business center to address the challenges MBEs face in the New York minority business development space. He also observed the day-to-day operations of the BOC network. Together, MBDA's business centers and CRP awardees are helping MBEs compete and thrive in competitive business ecosystems. #PoweredByMBDA #TeamMBDA

#EGOS24 #subtheme80 in Milan focused on two increasingly important and intertwined fields of research: trust and crises, in the context of a new era of turbulence. The 40th EGOS colloquium was this time titled: Crossroads for Organizations: Time, Space and People and in discussions with fellow researchers, it was noted that we are going through some difficult times - crossroads is not an easy place to be. We presented our work on incubation periods in crisis management, based on early stage of COVID-19 in Estonia with Hannes Nagel. Coming from the field of crisis management, it was really inspiring to learn about the prevalent issues among the trust researchers and just how important this field of research is for understanding how to better manage - or even better, prevent - various types of crises. Many thanks to the fellow sub-panelists and also to the convenors of the theme, Guido Möllering, Ensieh Roud and Gareth Owen. I feel really lucky to have been a part of our sub-panel! ✨

🔍Did you know? The ESM has gone through several independent evaluations on its programmes, allowing the institution to learn from the experience of past policies, programmes and processes. 📚Recognising the value of sharing experience and knowledge with other institutions, five ESM colleagues - Nicola Giammarioli, Kari Korhonen, Pilar Castrillo, John Goossen, Olga Francova - took part in the European Evaluation Society (EES)'s 15th European Evaluation Biennial Conference. Colleagues discussed the ESM’s analytical capabilities that support country work, how these bring value to the institution’s decision-making and ability to carry out its mandate, and how to evaluate them. 💡It is key not only to learn from the past but also to be actively prepared for possible future crises and foster a learning organisation that ensures a continued transfer of knowledge. 🙏Thank you to all those who contributed to the discussion. #ESMeuro
