It's interesting to watch people who claim to "love" this country wish for failure. Thanks Secretary Buttigieg. You've done a great job trying to bring our rail system into the 21st century. Pete hasn't brought anything to transportation just like he didn't do anything for south bend Indiana, so nothing from nothing, but then it says a lot about the North American government and the people that R appointed to positions, enough said.
You can expect, just like California's rail system, which hasn't been completed in years to follow suite. Money laundering at it's best... Hey Minnesotians, expect to be it may be completed in 2040 with it costing 5x the amount..

1wWhy don't the Americans have, by far, the lowest cost, highest speed, most efficient rail system in the world ? The negative multiplier effects, of 80 years of a "profit before throughput" philosophy, are beyond quantification, have painted the Nation into a corner & can't be fixed. However it is possible to improve throughput by nationalizing the rail system & leasing track-time to state & private carriers. High-Speed rail-feeder cargo, "single-stack" containers, is critical for higher value goods, while slower speeds accommodate lesser value goods & empty containers., & bulk operations. When the public understand the real cost of private rail systems, there is a chance they will demand greater throughput because of opportunities for lower cost communities.
