Exciting times ahead as we embrace transformative change in transportation! By focusing on a unified vision and aggressive collaboration, we are not just building infrastructure; we're "SMART-ing" our way to better road user experiences. This ethos mirrors the innovative approach the City of Chattanooga is championing in the recent SMART award. This effort is a remarkable success story that validates the #strategies discussed in the article. In Chattanooga, TN, partners from the local government (Jerele D. Neeld), academia (Mina Sartipi), the automotive industry (Brad Stertz), wireless communications technology developers (James (Jim) Misener), OBU and RSU manufacturers #harman, ITS America (Laura Demeo Chace and Timothy Drake), and systems engineers and integrators #leidos, came together with a BOLD VISION to promote interoperable connectivity for national deployment, representing a comprehensive approach to challenges in transportation. The collaboration is focusing on a SYSTEM OF SYSTEMS approach, integrating individual efforts that previously addressed isolated challenges without fully capturing the big picture. By combining multiple SCENARIOS AND USE CASES, this partnership is setting a precedent for future-ready, interconnected transportation networks, through optimizing the design and utilization of the "#digitalecosystem" to " unlock the potential for physical infrastructure to operate at the highest levels". #v2x #connectivity #DigitalTransformation #Infrastructure #transportation #SMARTCity
When it comes to making our transportation system safer, we often have to think differently. ITS America members think outside the box during #InfrastructureWeek and every week In the link below, ITS America Digital Infrastructure Committee Co-Chairs, Iowa Department of Transportation's Executive Director Scott Marler and Miovision's Co-Founder and CEO Kurtis McBride share their view on the road ahead for #digitalinfrastructure and the key steps to keeping up the current momentum. https://lnkd.in/gRZrhRHr #DigitalInfrastructureWeek #ThisisITS

Our next story about broadband's impact on Coloradans is available! Broadband Stories Series: The Rural Tech Renaissance. Over the years, Colorado's rural communities have faced significant economic growth and development challenges due to limited access to reliable broadband internet. However, over the next few years, the state will receive nearly $1 billion from federal funding to invest in expanding broadband infrastructure and programs. Ensuring all residents have the same opportunity to foster their entrepreneurial spirit wherever they desire. The ripple effects of broadband expansion are already evident in rural Colorado, especially on the Western Slope. https://lnkd.in/gkeupgB3

📰 Did you catch our newsletter from Monday? If not, you missed quite a bit! Some of the content is highlighted below: Senior Associate Karla Aurea Peralta Paredes wrote the first installation of her and Carolina de Urquijo Isoard's THREE part series on Lessons from Latin America in Transportation. You can read the English version (yes, there was a Spanish version in our newsletter!) on the Cityfi blog - https://bit.ly/cityfi-blog Partner Karina Ricks interviewed Justine Johnson, Chief Mobility Officer of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Justine leads the state’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OMFE) in working across state government, academia, and private industry to enhance Michigan’s mobility ecosystem, start up support, and scale up of emerging mobility technologies. The full interview will be posted on the Cityfi blog soon. Earlier this month, while at MetroLab Network's Annual Summit, Senior Principal Camron Bridgford, AICP was part of a panel discussion on the Open Mobility Foundation's SMART Curb Collaborative and its impact on pilot solutions for curbside digital infrastructure. In the newsletter Camron reflected on the value of the cohort concept when piloting with cities and provided her list of "cohort best practices." These were just a few of the articles provided in the newsletter. If you want to learn more from our deep bench of subject matter experts, read discussions with influential people in the world of city and government innovation, and get an understanding of what we do and who we are, then sign up for our newsletter! - https://lnkd.in/gyZXRt7Y #transportation #innovation #cities #planning #government
