In the last 2 months I've participated in 3 hackathons🤓 Here are the results: 1. Deep Dive was my first hackathon ever. We had to create a go-to market strategy for the medical start-up. Unfortunately my team didn't manage to qualify for the second round but it was a great learning experience which assisted me in the next challenges. 2. Next came the Talent Vantaa Hackathon by Business Vantaa where my team tackled the space industry (totally new to me!) for ReOrbit – and we won! 3. The last challenge was from Solve the SDGs hackathon organized by Aalto Ventures Program and Junction. We built a digital tool to analyze extreme weather for Sweco, making it into the top 5 in the peer review! Feels like I found a new hobby! Already waiting for the next challenge... 😊

Stupid Hackathon is growing up! This is a strange experience for me, let me tell you the story. Many moons ago I set up the first Stupid Hackathon Sweden over at Earth People (and later at Internetstiftelsen). It's always been immensely fun. Over the years I've also been able to invite some brands I was working with at the time, such as teenage engineering, Mathem, Comviq, And The Revolution and many more, who strangely enough always have understood what it all was about and played along. Last year SBAB played jury and gave out their prize (a rubik's cube with the same color on all sides) to their favorite (a muesli sorting machine built by someone who hated raisins). I've also set up micro-versions of Stupid Hackathon for Regeringskansliet, Utrikesdepartementet, Meepo and Berghs School of Communication. It's indeed strange that so many people actively seem to want to explore this creative space, and Stupid Hackathon has over the years become something I and others refer to. It's become some kind of thing. This November, Stupid Hackathon is evolving into a nationwide movement! It will take place in several cities in Sweden at once, with all cities acting autonomously. We share the common goal of being a hackathon for terrible ideas and we do it simultaneously over the course of 8'ish hours. From Try New Things multimedia studio in Skellefteå we'll set up some kind of TV studio in which we frame the event with an intro and an outro. IcaX is sponsoring with prizes and it's just really lovely to co-create this thing together with so many others. As of writing, we have events in Stockholm, Skellefteå, Norrköping and Karlstad and more TBC. If you have access to a space and/or is part of a community who would enjoy this — please reach out! The more the merrier. Ok wow that's a lot of text. I'm so happy about this, and well... in general. Cheerio. https://lnkd.in/dA7F9qnb

Here's a sample article for your hackathon experience: --- Title: Our Hackathon Journey: Turning Ideas into Innovation Participating in a hackathon is an exhilarating experience that pushes creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork to new levels. With only a short amount of time, we brainstormed ideas, assessed our strengths, and decided on an approach that would allow us to create something impactful. This step required intense collaboration, as each team member contributed their unique skills and perspectives to shape our vision. It’s been a tremendous journey for the Spacefinish & The Campus HQ team since we embarked on a groundbreaking partnership with one of Africa’s unicorn, Flutterwave to design its executive headquarters - to elevate their journey toward global expansion and IPO readiness. I’m thrilled to walkthrough the new Flutterwave headquarters with our Design Program Manager, May Lawani talking about our innovative design solutions for this transformative space—that not only improves how the Flutterwave team works, but instills trust among stakeholders, expression of brand values, and fosters partnership for limitless possibilities. This year marked the second edition of EVS's annual hackathon—a thrilling two-day event where 74 hackers and 15 coaches from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, the USA, and the UK came together to work on 12 innovative projects. Our hackathon isn’t just a competition—it’s an opportunity for our R&D teams to explore new ideas, collaborate with colleagues from across the globe, and push the boundaries of what’s possible. From integrating #GenerativeAI into our solutions to finding ways to reduce hardware power consumption, the projects reflect our commitment to #Innovation, #Sustainability, and #CustomerValue. This year, we introduced a new twist by focusing on the business impact of each project. The most insightful takeaway for me is how the space fosters high team productivity and collaboration, while also standing out for its functionality, enhanced by the integration of various security measures and tools.

🚀 Innovation meets Teamwork: My Experience at the CAR-T: Expanding Horizons Global Hackathon! I recently had the fantastic opportunity to participate in the CAR-T: Expanding Horizons Global Hackathon – an event that truly takes creativity, problem-solving and collaboration to the next level. Together with an amazing team, we worked on an exciting project: Interdisciplinary CAR-T cell reference centers and Matchmaking. A few highlights from the experience: 💡 Team Synergy: Combining insights from different disciplines was key to developing our solution. ⚙️ Hands-On Innovation: Turning complex ideas into actionable solutions in such a short time. 🌍 Impact Potential: Addressing a critical need with a solution that could make a real-world difference. Special thanks to the organizers, mentors, and especially Stefan Hendriks, one of the inspiring judges who provided invaluable feedback and insights. Hackathons like this demonstrate the power of collaboration and innovation in expanding horizons. I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned to future challenges and opportunities! #Hackathon #Innovation #Teamwork #CART #ExpandingHorizons
