Quick update on Cohort 6 of the Climatebase Fellowship 👇
CEO, Founder @ Climatebase | Founder @ SF Climate Week (April 19-27, 2025) 🌎 Building products, community, and career pathways to grow the climate workforce 💪
UPDATE: Over 4,000 people have applied to Cohort 6 of the Climatebase Fellowship. You can still submit a late application, but if you do, it is unlikely that we will be able to consider you for Cohort 6. At the very least, however, you'll be given priority consideration for our next Cohort in the Spring. In related news, I've been reviewing a bunch of early-stage founders who applied for the Climatebase Launch Scholarship — a full-ride scholarship program for promising climate founders to accelerate their startups within the Fellowship. Climatebase Launch is new initiative we only announced a few weeks ago, and I gotta say, I'm pretty blown away by the ideas, progress, and backgrounds of the founders who applied 🤩 Excited to kick off Cohort 6 with a phenomenal group of ambitious mission-driven Fellows in a couple weeks! 🎉

Impact and Collaboration through Hackathon I (Barbara Blenski) was very excited to attend the closing of ‘Societal Impact through Entrepreneurship’ event first time with my daughter (showed interest in my work) and my colleague René Fehrmann. A truly dazzling display of great start-up ideas from the students to make a social and environmental impact. From education to food, these young people covered many topics. The degree programme candidates, who come from diverse disciplines, spent two months working on their ideas before presenting them last week in the Jupiter building. Why are we so excited about the day? Like the participants of our hackathon ‘Reframe & Rethink’, the students became effective in the elaboration of ideas. Ideally, these international students were also able to feel their own connection to these topics during the project. A day like this showcases the fact that the topics presented don't just end up as mere homework, but rather that they are heard and, at best, ideas are actually implemented. It would be great if we could work on more projects in the future like this or the hackathon in which students not only generate impactful ideas but also create interdisciplinary solutions beyond their degree programme. Because in professional life, that is exactly what the challenge will be **collaboration**. ...and although we had agreed otherwise, my daughter was so enthusiastic about the presentations and ideas that we listened to the presentations and Esin's great impulse together until the end. Thank you for your encouragement! #hackathon #interdisziplinary #students #impact

I've experienced Founder Fellowship at On Deck, which helped over 1,000 companies start up and raise over $2 billion. At Transcend Network Fellowship, I was part of aglobal network of 300+ founders from 49 countries, who collectively raised over $200M. As a mentor at Techstars, I've been part of a community that's nurtured 4,000+ portfolio companies across 60+ countries. These fellowships have offered me more than knowledge. They've provided me with a community of like-minded people. Though rewarding, I've always missed the in-person interactions. There's something uniquely powerful about connecting face-to-face. So when I got the opportunity to join MIT Bootcamps’ Venture Advancement Program, I instantly said YES. As they say, I’m ready to "drink from the firehose" of innovation. My mission is deeply personal. To empower immigrants. Each year, more than 1 million immigrants enter the US, many turning to blue-collar jobs due to lack of guidance. I was one of them. Despite holding an MS degree from a US university, it took me a year to find a job that would tackle my VISA issues. I've worked in halal gyro stands, food trucks, and restaurants in New York, meeting countless intelligent immigrants stuck in the same cycle. A friend with a physics bachelor's at Dunkin' Donuts. Another with a civil engineering degree driving yellow Taxis. These are the people I represent. MIT is the best place for me to learn how to address this issue at scale. To deepen relationships with those who share this mission. Starting May 13th, I will spend every day this week from 8 AM to 9 PM at MIT's Innovation Headquarters (iHQ). Each evening at 10 PM EST, I'll share a bite-sized summary of what I learned that day. To discover my daily insights, subscribe and stay tuned. Looking forward to sharing and growing together. Wish me luck! #ForImmigrantsByImmigrants #MITBootcampsVenture24 #MITBootcamps

🚀 Hackathon Chronicles: A Weekend of Innovation and Learning! 🎉 This past weekend, I had the privilege of participating in a Hackathon hosted by Kairos School Of Business, where 5 teams were tasked with solving 5 unique problem statements. Each team was given just just a week to ideate, strategize, and build something impactful.💡 Our team’s challenge? To build an EdTech platform designed for generalists—individuals who excel across multiple disciplines, rather than specializing in just one. The goal was to create a solution that empowers learners to explore various domains and thrive in today’s multifaceted world. 🌍 After intense brainstorming, countless iterations, and late-night strategy sessions, we were ready to present! Each team was allotted 10 minutes to pitch their solution to the judges, followed by a Q&A session. The energy in the room was electric, with ideas flowing and creativity at its peak! ⚡ While we didn’t walk away with the win, we walked away with something even more valuable—experience, feedback, and growth. 💼 Shoutout to Team 4 for their outstanding performance and well-deserved victory! 🏆 Your solution was truly impressive, and it’s inspiring to see such innovative minds in action. 👏 This Hackathon wasn’t just a competition—it was a learning journey. It taught us the importance of teamwork, time management, and the power of an idea brought to life under pressure. A huge thank you to Kairos School Of Business for organizing this event and providing us with the opportunity to challenge ourselves, think differently, and innovate. 🙌 Team members : Ankur Chawla, Srinath Jheddu ,Bharat Parseja,Lowell DeepSingh Wadan,Riya Malhotra, bivu, Rajesh Vellore,Aditya Pandey Here’s to many more such experiences and to everyone who participated—let’s keep building, learning, and growing! 💪✨ #Hackathon #Innovation #EdTech #Generalists #Teamwork #LearningExperience #KairosSchoolOfBusiness #GrowthMindset

🌟 Ignite Your Innovation! 🌟 Ever wondered how curiosity can reshape problem-solving? 🤔💡 At our recent hackathon, we had an enlightening session with one of our mentors who emphasized that critique rooted in curiosity can open doors to groundbreaking solutions. Here’s why adopting a curious mindset is a game-changer: Unlocks New Perspectives: By asking questions with genuine curiosity, we can uncover viewpoints and ideas we hadn't considered before. 🌍🔍 Encourages Continuous Learning: Curiosity drives us to seek out new knowledge, staying updated and informed about the latest trends and technologies. 📚✨ Fosters Collaborative Thinking: When we critique with curiosity, it invites others to share their insights and expertise, creating a richer, more collaborative environment. 🤝🧠 Promotes Problem Reframing: A curious critique often leads to reframing the problem in a new light, revealing innovative solutions that were previously hidden. 🔄💡 Enhances Creativity: Curiosity fuels our imagination, inspiring creative approaches and out-of-the-box thinking. 🎨🚀 Click the video to see the highlights from our mentor's session and get inspired to bring curiosity into your problem-solving toolkit! 🚀✨ #Hackathon #Innovation #Curiosity #ProblemSolving #TechMentorship #StartupLife #CreativeThinking Natalie Lauren Sims Maria Kim Folasade Akande, M.S.
