📢As part of the development for the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s new Local Plan we are asking interested parties to put forward suitable sites for development. 🏗️Last year we started the development of the new Local Plan which will set out the Council’s vision for the development of Royal Greenwich to 2036. To date we have consulted on a range of topics including housing and communities, climate change and environment, design and heritage and transport and movement. 🏚️The Call for Sites process is an opportunity for landowners, developers, agents and site promoters to submit sites to the Council, which are considered to have the potential for future development, either the short-term (1-5 years), medium-term (5-10 years) or long-term (10-15 years). 🙋 We are also interested in knowing whether members of public are aware of any sites or land that may be suitable for different types of new developments or uses (e.g. vacant or poorly used sites or premises), to enable the Council to investigate these further. 🚀The survey will run until 11.59pm, 31 July 2024 ⏰ 👉 To learn more and propose sites please visit https://lnkd.in/e9i6Qp6G Need help with the survey? We are committed to making our consultation process as accessible and inclusive as possible, if the online survey does not suit your needs, you can reach out to the planning team by emailing [email protected] or call 020 8921 6235.

What do communities really think about urban brownfield sites in their area? https://lnkd.in/emb7Wg3Y Our latest research commissioned by Landsec, British Land and Berkeley Homes shows how popular the development of urban brownfield sites can be. The headlines are: 💡 A large majority (79%) of the public supports urban brownfield site development in their area, and 75% want brownfield development to be prioritised over other types of development. 💡 With high quality digital engagement, communities will support greater density and height of these developments in return for larger investment in community infrastructure. It's been exciting to work alongside these highly respected developers, generating insights from our networks, audience and data. We hope the report will help Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, local authorities and developers to ensure that outcomes from brownfield development can be accelerated, and will benefit everyone. Urban Development Institute of New Zealand UDINZ was pleased to make a submission earlier today on the draft Government Policy Statement on land transport (GPS) 2024 released by the Minister of Transport for feedback. Urban Development and housing outcomes are inextricably connected with the development of appropriate infrastructure (including a well functioning transport system) able to accomodate demand. With thanks to Duncan Gibson from Urban Development Institute of New Zealand UDINZ member Aurecon who lead our advocacy work on this submission which can be accessed here: https://lnkd.in/gchSuF3b UDINZ expects that ongoing consultation will take place with the sector on the development of a long-term infrastructure plan, and in any consideration of alternative funding mechanisms for urban infrastructure. We are happy to assist the Government in facilitating access to our membership to inform the ongoing process. #connectcollaboratecommunity #whereindustryandinsightmeet #resilientsustainablehealthy
