If you spend any time on Instagram, you might have noticed a while ago that they moved away from the square posts and made them more portrait. Now when I see a square post it doesn’t feel it flows as well while scrolling down my phone and it got us thinking, do all the social medias have an optimum size? Instagram is definitely a portrait platform, it does take landscape too if all the pictures you’re uploading are landscape, but it might not grab people’s attention that well due to how small it ends up being when zoomed out to fit, so we would always recommend portrait. Facebook is different because the layout isn’t so strict. Either portrait or landscape will work for Facebook, whichever your pictures are taken in. If you’re uploading infographics, portrait is probably still better but only from an ease of reading viewpoint. LinkedIn is, again, more flexible in terms of layout. For photos we’d recommend landscape as they tend to look more natural on LinkedIn and therefore easier to digest, but portrait will also work for photos. Infographics however, we suggest using the same portrait size as Instagram, and uploading them as a pdf instead of separate images so that they don’t get weirdly cut off by the automatic layout and are easy to swipe through. Is there anything about social media that you struggle with? We’d love to answer any of your questions you’ve got!

Today's update: I've started a page for a mens lifestyle and fashion brand that has been a dream of mine for a long time. If you want to check it out that's cool - i'll leave a link below. https://lnkd.in/eAQsSs_d I was thinking about putting some money behind paid ads to grow an audience for it online - but then I also thought - is this premature? Do I have a solid enough product, service or offering clearly defined for it yet - and is this accurately represented in the content? At the moment, the page is more of a moving moodboard and some visual curation to provide inspiration and to capture the aesthetic. Half of the advice I've heard is to just start putting money behind it and getting followers and figure it out along the way. The other half is saying to start with a clear intention and nailing what the brand or page or service is doing, as Instagram and the social media channels are already saturated, especially with this type of content - and that paid ads should come later. What do you think? I'm interested to find out, and please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments. 👍 https://lnkd.in/eAQsSs_d

🚨 Master the Art of Facebook Ads with These Powerful Strategies 🚨 In today’s digital landscape, becoming a Facebook Ads expert is no longer optional—it’s a necessity! Whether you’re just starting or looking to refine your approach, these insights will elevate your campaigns and maximize your ROI. Let’s dive in! 👇 1. Crafting Killer Ad Creatives 🎨 Your ad creative is the FIRST thing your audience will notice. It has to stand out in the noisy social feed! The secret? Make it visually appealing and emotionally engaging. Here’s why it matters. Visual Appeal: People process visuals 60,000 times faster than text. Make it count! Emotional Triggers: Tap into emotions to create a connection. Find a way to resonate whether it’s humor, empathy, or excitement. The Harsh Truth: Your audience doesn’t care about your business or reputation; they care about what’s in it for them. Does your ad speak to their needs? If not, you’ve lost them! 2. Writing Persuasive Ad Copy 📝 It’s true—not everyone reads the ad copy. But those who do? They’re the ones most likely to convert. Here’s how to write copy that seals the deal. Focus on Benefits: Shift the focus from features to benefits. Instead of describing the product, talk about how it will improve their life. Answer Their Questions: The curious will want more details. Make sure your copy answers any lingering doubts they may have. Simple & Clear: Keep it concise. No one has time to read an essay in their feed! 3. Nailing the Target Audience 🎯 Even the best ad creatives and copy will fall flat if they’re shown to the wrong audience. Here’s how to ensure your ads hit the right people. Interest-Based Targeting: Meta reports that advertisers using interest-based targeting see up to a 60% improvement in engagement rates. Don’t underestimate the power of this! Demographic Alignment: For high-ticket items, target demographics like iPhone users, frequent international travelers, or individuals with higher income levels. Show your ad to people who are likely to buy! Avoid Common Pitfalls: Don’t show candy ads to seniors or luxury products to teenagers. Be smart about your targeting! 🚀Ready to elevate your Facebook Ads game? I’m so glad the Influencer Era™️ is finally coming to an end! Or maybe a better name for it is the Instagram Era™️. Either way, I’m enjoying its slow death. 🍿👀 “Content Creators” are complaining everywhere about stunted reach and lack of growth, so as those people go back to their day jobs, hopefully that means the value of real storytelling and thoughtful productions will go up. — As my fellow Millennials know, when Instagram started, you had to take pictures through the app—there was no saving option, so it truly was instant. When the platform changed to allow users to upload images from other sources, a lot of outdoor photographers (myself included) started posting our best portfolio-worthy images. I reveled in the likes and comments, and each successful post made me feel one step closer to being a professional photographer. That was all good for a while, but it soon became clear that certain types of images did better on the platform than others. My feed was inundated with photos that were blindingly colorful and perfectly posed, with bright blue lakes and snow-capped mountains in the background—bonus points for the subject being a tanned female with her blonde hair blowing in the wind. It was all so… boring. — Now, we’re seeing a return to a more raw, unproduced aesthetic, with film burns and candid moments and motion blur all over the place. Personally, I like the grittier look… but even that’s starting to feel unoriginal and overdone now. It makes me wonder if we’ll see a swing back to the “perfection aesthetic” (god I hope not) in a few years’ time. What are your thoughts? Have you noticed any similar visual trends?

One brand that *needs* to get in on #mememonday ? Shutterstock 📸 We've seen the power of leveraging memes on social media, so here's my idea: Each Monday, Shutterstock should pull one of their *exclusive* stock photos and make a meme out of it for social 📲 Sure, you can't expect to go viral every week, but the posts that do will have social media managers RUNNING 🏃♀️💨 to recreate it for their own channels... and where is that SMM going to pull the photo? Well, they might just get it on Shutterstock 💰 It’s the power of differentiation, demand, and exclusivity. Why should social teams download your stock image vs one from the business account they already have? Make your product valuable in a fast-paced environment— the slide decks will always be there 😴 The best part? It's a royalty free image. No more using famous faces and hoping legal turns a blind eye. THAT SAID: There is a caveat. I've already found two ways to screenshot Shutterstock content without purchasing it, and memes aren't known for being high-def. While this idea may work for brand awareness and social KPIs like followers, engagement, etc., it may not drive sales the way we want it to. Beware (and take note) of screenshot pirates. 🏴 https://lnkd.in/dZV4wziP

❌3 Common Facebook Ad Mistakes & How To Avoid Them 1️⃣ Using Low-Quality Images and Videos 📸 Why It Matters: Visuals are the first thing your audience sees in a Facebook ad. If your images or videos are of low quality, they are less likely to catch attention and more likely to be ignored. High-quality visuals are essential for making a strong first impression. How to Avoid It: Invest in High-Quality Visuals: Always use high-resolution images and professionally shot videos. If you're using stock photos, ensure they are relevant and of high quality. Test Different Visuals: A/B tests different images and videos to see which ones resonate most with your audience. 2️⃣ Writing Poor Ad Copy ✍️ Why It Matters: Your ad copy is the message that convinces people to take action. Poorly written ad copy can confuse or bore your audience, reducing the chances of them clicking on your ad. How to Avoid It: Be Clear and Concise: Use simple, straightforward language that is easy to understand. Avoid jargon that might alienate your audience. Personalize Your Message: Address the needs and pain points of your target audience. Use their language and tone to make the ad feel personal. Include a Strong Call to Action: Clearly state what you want the audience to do next. Whether it's "Shop Now," "Learn More," or "Sign Up," make sure your CTA is compelling and direct. Example: Consider an ad for an online coding course. A poor copy might say, "Learn coding. It's fun." A compelling ad copy would be, "Ready to level up your career? Join our hands-on coding boot camp and become a certified developer in just 12 weeks. Enroll now and get 20% off!" 3️⃣ Not Tracking Your Results 📊 Why It Matters: Without tracking, you won’t know what’s working and what isn’t. Data-driven decisions are crucial for optimizing your ad campaigns and improving performance over time. How to Avoid It: Use Facebook Ads Manager: This tool provides comprehensive reports on your ad performance, including metrics like click-through rates, conversion rates, and more. Analyze Your Data: Regularly review your campaign data to identify trends and insights. Look for what’s driving engagement and what’s not. Do you know what people feel when they see your profile photo? Our profile photos are often the first impressions our potential customers have on social media. Especially on LinkedIn, we want to show people we are capable and approachable. You have your colleague take a bunch of photos at your company event where you look your best. And you select one to make your profile photo. But does it actually work as intended? We need actual honest opinions here, not polite ones. We all want to look our best, right? But hey, I’m not here to sugarcoat things. If there’s spinach in your teeth, you bet I’m gonna tell you! Just DM me and lets roast each other's photos 😂 But you know what, why just rely on my opinion alone? At the end of the day, it's just one opinion. What you need is to create a survey and find out what a lot of people think. (Oh, marketers love A/B testing) I am not an influencer yet, so rest assured I did not take any money for this: www.photofeeler.com It’s like having your own personal focus group—for free! People vote and share tips to help you up your pic game. Recently, Anirban Das✒️suggested to use a single color background. As I observe, a lot of influencers do it as well. But in my opinion, I would lose a lot of opportunity to give hints about my environment and my life. For example, for a public speaker, having a digital screen of a presentation in the background, even though it is out of focus, gives a lot of information for a first impression. So far, Photofeeler | Test Your Photo, Get Actionable Feedback is agreeing with me, but we need more data. I may even need an entirely new photo taken by a professional photographer. What do you think? Which one seems more capable and approachable?
