“I don’t have Educational bias.” I can’t tell you how happy I was to hear a client (with fantastic Big-Law & impressive academic credentials) say this, earlier in the week! It’s so frustrating when asked to limit the candidate pool to those who studied at a top law school. University choice doesn’t tell you the full story, but a good recruiter will! 😉 I often ask candidates how they picked which law school to attend, responses vary: ✏ Offered a free ride at XXX so took it!! ✏ Had a sick relative/ caring responsibility so opted to stay close to the family home. ✏ Family affiliation with XXX institution. ✏ Really liked the ethos! ✏ Strong fit with sports interests. As we keep striving for diverse teams, diversity of thought and a more diverse workforce, I hope more hiring managers see the bigger picture & stop limiting candidate pools by law school attendance. #lawschoollife #diversetalent #diverseworkforce #inclusiveleadership #recruiterlife

STRIVE are proud to present our new weekly segment entitled ‘Why We Do What We Do Wednesdays' 🎉 We will be dropping exciting video footage that explains our motivations for the work we do as well as the impact we have made in transforming employment outcomes for aspiring lawyers 🎯 Kicking things off with a bang, we proudly introduce Frazer Clark who participated in our incredible Supernova workshop this summer. Frazer speaks to our dedicated COO Bertilla Chow about the perks of going through the programme, and how it successfully enabled him to obtain a training contract at Ogier 👔 🙌 Coming from a lower socio-economic/underrepresented background needn’t be the reason your dream career doesn’t come to fruition. Despite 96% of our Supernova candidates attending state schools, with a further 53% belonging to a first-generation immigrant background, all have successfully completed the programme landing jobs in magic/silver circle firms. 📈 ✅ Inspired?
