To me, the poetry inscribed along the Punggol Park Connector captures the charm of Singapore’s Arts scene – it may not be as robust as Vienna or New York, but it blends our Asian heritage and Western influences, and finds ways to intersect with the lives of Singaporeans. When researching on Our SG Arts Plan (2023-2027) for MAJU: The Youth Policy Research Initiative, it struck me as forward-looking, people-centric and ambitious. Forward-looking, because it taps on data insights and technology. People-centric, because it brings the Arts to everyday spaces and helps artists build sustainable careers. Lastly, ambitious because it envisions an Arts scene that unites all Singaporeans and even goes beyond our shores. A one-stop platform with a retro interface, artsy staircases in neighbourhoods, homegrown jams broadcasted on the MRT – in this article, we explore how Our SG Arts Plan (2023-2027) grooves with the times🕺

🌟 Highlighting “Pilot Project for Audience Diversification in Contemporary Jazz”, organised by Assejazz! This project consists of the creation of a European programme for the exchange of jazz proposals through collaboration with 3 entities similar to Assejazz, dedicated to the dissemination and internationalisation of this musical genre! Key aspects of the project include: 🤝 Collaboration and Exchange: the 3 entities will visit Assejazz to share practices and tools, focusing on addressing challenges between jazz venues and new audience profiles. 🎤 Meetings/concerts: 12 in total (4 for each entity), held over 12 months, to inspire and develop tools to reflect on issues such as the reduction of the environmental impact of venues and the interaction with audiences that are not very integrated among current audiences (young people, women and citizens not professionally linked to musical disciplines) and practical tools to include audiences in the reflection and transformation of music venues. 👉 Find more about the project in the link: https://lnkd.in/dWNUiimv #LIVEMX #beyondmusic #livemusicsector #creativeeuropeprogramme #musicmoveseurope #livemxprojectshowcase
