Instead of enabling this hot trend of alienating family and friends for their polticial stances on Thanksgiving and this holiday season, let's go a healthier and more sustainable route...GRATITUDE. Let's be grateful we have each other. Let's be grateful for the opportunity to be grown ups together. Let's be grateful for what makes us stronger together, not not one stupid thing that divides us and makes us petty. Let's be grateful for what we have, and wish our blessings upon those who aren't as fortunate. Remember, especially during this holiday season, that gratitude is essential to our humanity and commonality. Gratitude is essential for growth, opportunity and clear perspectives. Gratitude is logical, not emotional, so it can always trump negativity. #Gratitude #holiday #Thanksgiving #perspective #leadership #humanity #family #friends EFA Movement

How I turned a grueling military transfer into a heartfelt family reunion filled with laughter and love...even without air-conditioning in my truck. Driving cross-country with my wife and four children from San Diego to Washington, D.C., remains etched in my heart. Each mile was a chance to reconnect, rediscover, and cherish our togetherness. Have you ever felt a moment so profoundly that it reshaped your understanding of love and family? After two years apart, stationed at Whidbey Island, I missed countless precious moments. This 2,700-mile journey over five days bridged that gap. Every day, and on a rotating basis, a different child joined me in our old pickup truck for a portion of the day. Their faces lit up with the joy of uninterrupted time with Daddy. The two oldest endured the sweltering desert with me in conversation, while the younger two filled the truck less often with laughter during the cooler periods. Every mile, every shared story, became a precious memory. Our nights at Motel 6 were magical. In adjoining rooms, we gathered for family dinners, shared our day's adventures, and planned the next leg of our journey. Those evenings, far from military demands, were filled with warmth, joy, and the incredible luxury of being together. Arriving in Washington, D.C., we found our home empty, our furniture still en route. But those days on the floor became a new chapter of memories as we ate, played, and slept on the floor, finding joy in each other's company and the promise of a new beginning. Memories of these moments, carved from the chaos of military life, taught me the true power of resilience, creativity, and love much later in life. They were more than just miles and an empty house; they were a testament to a family's unbreakable bond and enduring love. Can you remember a time when a difficult journey brought you closer to your loved ones? #FamilyFirst #JourneyOfLove #MilitaryLife #CherishedMemories #MaverickStrategist #MaverickonaMission ____________________________ I’m Jeff, a strategic advisor for resilience and complex matters. The Dynamics of Competence Competence is developed and nurtured through time and sustained purposeful effort. It can even grow and develop into mastery and virtuosity; but only through sustained focus, disciplined and dedicated effort guided by your cognitive ability and acute discernment of the landscape signals around you. As I said earlier, you and I go through life perceiving the world almost like deaf and blind creatures; neglecting and ignoring a lot more than what we are actually sensing and processing. Why? Because at rest, all our five (5) external senses are mostly set on low resolution. Our sensitivity and alert systems are set only towards those unusual aberrations that deviate from our mental picture of our operating landscape. When anomalies occur, our internal warning bells go wild and our rapid focusing responses go into full alert. But without those sudden environmental anomalies occurring, our senses are largely unfocused and ineffectual! We manage our everyday lives by exception: maintaining a narrow focus and handling only those perceived anomalies framed against our expected idea of what is normal and safe. If we were to become habituated to repetitively intense and chaotic sensory signals, we will become numb and unreceptive and thereby fail to address emerging threats or detect subtle opportunities. Desensitized and weak sensory systems eventually lead to impaired cognition, discernment and cognitive ability. And if I were to express this concept into a loose mathematical equation, Competence is the product of your Cognitive ability multiplied by your trait Conscientiousness raised exponentially to your X factor. Industry and hard work count a lot provided you do not impair your cognitive ability. C = Iq (I)X ; where C is Competence; Iq is Cognitive ability; and I is Conscientiousness (Industry); and x is the exponent (personal efficiency multiple) excerpt from "Competence: Nature and Dynamics"; by RSMD (#ProfessorSam); Follow if you agree.
