This week, I get to dive into my favourite core value - kindness - with an extraordinary guest, Alan Questel. What did we talk about? ✨ Kindness in leadership and its power to transform workplaces. ✨ Practicing kindness toward ourselves and learning to like ourselves more. ✨ Unique doorways to kindness, like movement, patience, and listening. ✨ Navigating emotions to handle tough situations with clarity. ✨ The art of feedback and creating meaningful, connective conversations. Alan's wisdom left me inspired to think differently about how kindness can shape our lives and leadership journeys. Episode drops Thursday! 🎙️ #UnderdogLeadership #KindnessMatters #LeadershipWithKindness #PodcastEpisode #SelfImprovement #EmotionalIntelligence #LeadershipDevelopment #IntentionalLiving #KindLeaders #PersonalGrowth

💖 This week’s ConvHERsations with Kristie was an absolute blast! We were joined by Joni, who, since she was in the hot seat, insisted on starting things off with a dance party—featuring a song by P!NK, of course! 🕺🎶 🩷 From there, they dove into a meaningful discussion about the often-overlooked role of emotions in both our personal and professional lives. Joni shared insights on how we are always feeling—even when we think we’re simply thinking or doing—and how those emotions drive our actions, often without us realizing it. They explored the importance of self-awareness and emotional intelligence, especially in leadership and teamwork. When we understand our own emotions and how they affect others, we can foster collaboration, reduce anxiety, and improve productivity. Joni reminded us that tapping into these feelings isn’t just powerful—it’s necessary. 💡𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 (𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝) 𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤? Imagine how much more each of us might contribute…and the risks we might take. I discuss this and much more with Trish Steed, in the latest episode of 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬: 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤. In our conversation, we explored the power we have to make others feel loveable and accepted. Trish shared her personal journey—underlining how authenticity and acceptance played pivotal roles in her development, both personally and professionally. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 👉 Recognize the power of love and acceptance to foster inclusion and belonging at work. 👉 Embrace a leadership style that avoids judgment and values openness to different ideas and perspectives. 👉 Focus on changing our own behavior and reactions, instead of attempting to change others. 👉 Build relationships by finding common ground and meeting people where they are. 👉 Apply the principle of immediate conflict resolution: apologize and move forward. 🚀 Transformational Tuesday🚀 Episode #16 Breaking the Biases That Limit Our Leadership... Last week, I coached a leadership team at a fast-growing company who realized they were stuck in their own blind spots—unconscious biases were quietly influencing everything from their decision-making to how they interacted with one another. Here’s what we discovered: 🪫 Confirmation Bias: People were making decisions based on their own beliefs and overlooking conflicting data. 🪫Affinity Bias: Leaders naturally connected with those who were similar to them, unintentionally leaving diverse voices unheard. 🪫Attribution Bias: Success was often credited to individual effort, while failures were blamed on external factors, leading to skewed evaluations. We made three key shifts: 1️⃣ 💡 Bias Awareness Training: Helping the team spot when biases were influencing their choices. 2️⃣ Structured Feedback: Shifting to data-driven evaluations to minimize subjective decisions. 3️⃣ Embracing Diverse Perspectives: Actively encouraging a variety of voices in every discussion. The result? More inclusive conversations, better decisions, and stronger team collaboration. This experience reminded me: Biases are natural, but unchecked biases hold us back. What biases have you noticed in your team, and how are you addressing them? Let’s talk in the comments!

🎙 Exciting news to share with our LinkedIn network! We had the privilege of having Marlene Chism on The Last 10%! 🚀 In our chat, we unpacked the strategies and mindsets needed to reprogram one's approach to conflict, from advocating for a no-drama culture to the often neglected-inner game of leadership. 🌱 🔑 Here are three key takeaways that you can apply to your leadership toolbox straight away: 💡 **Set Clear Intentions:** Before entering a difficult conversation, clarify your desired outcome. Focus on behavior and results rather than being swayed by emotions. This keeps the dialogue productive and solution-oriented. 💼 **Expand Your Conflict Capacity:** Move from conflict avoidance to courage by embracing the discomfort of challenging interactions. Building this muscle is not just about being tough; it's about growing in fortitude, character, and self-awareness. 🔄 **Respond, Don't React:** Learn to notice when you're triggered and develop the skill to respond thoughtfully. This involves addressing visible behaviors, setting expectations in advance, and managing your energy for positive influence. Tune in to the full episode of "The Last 10%" to hear more about my journey, the power of clarity, and the role of personal responsibility in initiating meaningful change. 🎧 We would love to hear your thoughts on the episode and the topics discussed. 🧠 What percentage of time does your brain serve you in a positive way? And how about in a negative way? 🤷🏻 Believe it or not, the highly educated, articulate, and intelligent leaders I work with are surprised to discover just how much time they spend sabotaging themselves. I invite you to tune in to EP#41, Self-Command, Part 1, as soon as possible so you can begin witnessing your own mind in a new and fun way. (Direct link to the episode in the first comment below.) 😈 You'll meet "Traci Trouble," whose favorite line is "You are not the boss of me." She's about 53 years old but acts like she is around 12. She lives in the back of my brain and can be very loud at times, and then other times, she is quietly sneaky. The ability to witness your own thoughts is a massive meta-skill. It's called meta-awareness. And it's a game changer. Without meta-awareness, we can't truly get to the root of change. Sure, you can change your behavior. But if you want those behaviors to stick, you gotta change your mind. I'm giving you the down-and-dirty in this episode on how to start practicing today. (Because it IS a practice!) So, dive in, let me know what you think, and get ready for some serious self-command! Create a great week! ~traci #LeadershipDevelopment #ExecutiveCoaching #ProfessionalGrowth #LeadershipMindset #ExecutiveMindset #LeadershipSkills #ProfessionalExcellence #CareerDevelopment #StrategicThinking #LeadershipCoaching #ExecutivePresence #BusinessLeadership #CorporateWellness #ManagementSkills #ExecutiveDevelopment #LeadershipTraining #BusinessAcumen #IndustryLeaders #LeadershipJourney #CareerAdvancement #TheWellnessCoach #wellbeingness
