One question I get a lot is can you print transparent? Well no. Especially with FDM that is basically impossible. But we can do translucent. ABSi material from Stratasys is both stronger than basic ABS, and it is translucent so you can see light through it and even monitor fluid flow. So it is a great material for the right applications. #3dprinting

✨ Absolutely buzzing about the Prusa CORE One ✨ As someone already using a Prusa MK3S and a couple of Bambu Lab A1s at Layerd.Studio, this feels like the perfect next step! The A1s are speedy and reliable, and the MK3S is an absolute tank, but the CORE One? It’s got everything I love about Prusa printers and more: mod-friendly, super repairable, and crazy good value for what it offers. Honestly, they’ve pretty much delivered an X1C-level printer but made it way more open to tweaks and upgrades – a total dream for anyone who likes to tinker. And here’s the best bit: they’re releasing a kit early next year to convert an MK4S into a Core One for just over £400! That’s SO Prusa – making upgrades accessible and proving they’re all about longevity. You’d never see that kind of thing with Bambu machines, and it’s exactly why I’m so hyped about this. For Layerd.Studio, it’s exciting to think about all the G-code edits, physical mods, and projects this could unlock. So, guys... we need to make a closed Core XY printer for home users. But home users mostly use PLA and PETG. Closed printers are just not that great for those materials, no matter what other companies say. You know how it is... you need this printer, but leave the door open. 😆 I know... so we have to make a closed printer suitable for PLA and PETG that can be used with the doors closed. Hmmm... sounds like fun. Okay, let’s do it. The first time we saw the Prusa CORE One print a PLA model with the door closed, I felt the same excitement as when I saw a 3D printer in action for the first time. 😍 I cannot wait for your excitement too. What a printer! And of course, let’s not forget about other properties that are very rare these days: What is yours is YOURS. Don’t want to connect to the internet? No problem; you can unplug the whole Wi-Fi module and still be able to update the firmware and print without any compromises. Precise printing. You don’t have to worry that the bit holder will hold your bits too tightly, or that it won’t be usable at all. Worn or broken part? You can buy and replace that part yourself. You should be able to repair your printer, not be forced to buy a completely new one because one small part is broken. You are not alone! We are here to help you with any issues 24/7, plus a massive community helping each other, not just trolls laughing at you for buying a different printer than they have.
