In all teams there is a hidden life of feeling. One aspect of team coaching is to help teams develop the ways they work together more effectively, and this can be enabled by an understanding of group dynamics. Key to this approach is understanding how individual, group and organisational factors impact each other. Just got back from an incredible executive team coaching session. Full days where we aligned on their why (their team’s purpose), their how (key behaviors), and their what (beginnings of their strategy map). How many slides did we use? Two. Yep - that’s all. Our executive team sessions aren’t slide decks and lengthy pre-reads. Rather, they are a series of intentional conversations, lots of flip charts, and key decisions. And, of course in the moment team coaching. Skip the slides. Create space for the discussions and the dialogue that matter.
