We were thrilled to be part of BIMA (British Interactive Media Association) D-Day this year, collaborating with the talented students of New City College Hackney https://lnkd.in/eKM79pFp . From the energy in the room to the fresh ideas brought to the table, the experience was nothing short of inspiring! BIMA D-Day is a fantastic initiative that bridges the gap between education and industry, giving students hands-on insights into the world of digital and creative industries. Watching their passion and creativity unfold reminded us why investing in the next generation of talent is so vital. A big thank you to New City College Hackney and Matthew Lasky & Mike Pertwee for representing and to Diana Hughes for making us feel so welcome. We are looking forward to collaborating with the college further in the future. #BIMADDay #CreativeCollaboration #FutureTalent #DigitalInnovation #DigitalDay24

Today I will be speaking at the #ScolPP conference at the University of Staffordshire on phenomenon-based learning, and I would like to invite you not only to join me for my presentation at 10:45 UK time today, but also to join me in a panel discussion to discuss the issues that have arisen since yesterday’s conference. It was my pleasure to share with the #SCOLPP conference participants our The Higher Education IDG Circle Initiatives: Global IDG Implementation Cases for Effective Learning at Scale. What is Phenomenon-based Learning? It is an approach that is based on #student inquiry, #interdisciplinarity and student #interest in the subject. It should be #global in nature and #purpose, #productive, encourage #groupwork and involve ongoing #research inquiry. https://lnkd.in/dYakAUin

Practical tools proposed by DG2 to debunk fake news and foster critical thinking 👍
The Council of Europe and the EU have crafted a toolkit aimed at helping young minds to critically assess media and online content, tackling historical inaccuracies and fostering analytical thinking. 🤔 Set to launch in Autumn 2024, the "Toolkit for History Classes" will offer 11 interactive activities that encourage students to explore various historical narratives through a multi-perspectivity lens. Alongside, a complimentary online course to support teachers in integrating these resources into their lessons has been launched. The initiative is highlighted at the #HISTOLAB European Innovation Days in History Education in Strasbourg, from 3-5 April. This gathering connects educators and innovators to exchange on pioneering educational practices, including unique methods like using LEGO to illustrate democracy, promising a comprehensive approach to history education for today's digital natives. Several years ago in school, I echoed “Yes, I understand” along with my classmates. But the truth was I found it hard to tell my teachers I did not understand certain things. I did not want to look like I was slow to understand things or why I was not getting how to solve the equation after the 4th time of explanation. On this white collared street, where bios are on the up rise like real estate and achievements are the breath in our lungs, the foundation for the next generation remains. In today's 2nd year class at ENSAE Paris, we started looking at the first of the alternative debates I mentioned in a previous post. I am curious about how structured debates can work to analyse different perspectives on current issues and *public forum debate* is a great way to do just this. 🗣️ What is Public Forum Debate? 🗣️ Public forum debate is a team-based debate format that focuses on real-world topics and encourages participants to consider both sides of an argument. It’s less about winning and more about understanding diverse viewpoints and making well-reasoned arguments. Some things I've noticed about public forum debate: 🔍 Topic-Driven: Debates are centered around current events or policy issues, making it highly relevant to what’s happening in the world right now. 🤝 Team Collaboration: You work with a partner, which makes the process collaborative, requiring strategic thinking and teamwork. 🧠 Balanced Arguments: Both sides of an issue are explored equally, and debaters must argue either side of a given topic. Public forum debate is a useful platform for learning how to articulate and defend ideas, sharpen critical thinking and structure classroom discussion. It’s a fascinating way to dive into timely issues while enhancing skills like public speaking, critical analysis, and collaborative problem-solving. Curious to learn more? Drop a comment or feel free to connect! #PublicForumDebate #CriticalThinking #Teamwork #LearningOpportunity #CommunicationSkills

Product plays a pivotal role in facilitating cross-team and cross-title success—bringing together diverse teams and perspectives. News organizations need product leaders who prioritize transparency and inclusivity. The positive work culture that results not only boosts morale but also strengthens fiscal sustainability for our newsrooms. Join us at News Product Alliance summit this Friday at 2:30 PT/5:30 ET to discuss these gems (and more!): Why transparency is crucial: 💎 Transparency fosters trust among team members, making it easier to move nimbly on important initiatives and increase output. 💎 It clarifies decision-making, aligns everyone on priorities and minimizes micromanagement (which stalls innovation). 💎 When people understand the "why" and the "how," they become more committed to the shared success of the product. Why inclusivity and collaboration is crucial: 💎 Research shows that creating multiple channels for input—tailored to different working preferences and needs—leads to more holistic contributions that better reflect the diverse needs of our communities. 💎 It eliminates competition between internal teams who should be focused on a common goal of serving communities. 💎 Showing that everyone’s input is valued increases buy-in and fosters a sense of ownership. 💎 It's the right thing to do. #NPASummit
Let’s meet two more speakers who will be leading sessions at the #NPASummit 2024! 🌟 Margaux Maxwell and James Tyner will show how to open up a product backlog to voices across the organization, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Discover how diverse perspectives can shape better products, boost audience trust, and drive sustainable growth. Make sure to your tickets soon! https://lnkd.in/ejkvqRW
