Are single player, environment and story driven games growing again? I think so. After a decade of VC's and publishers' desire for annual recurring revenue based on live ops and multiplayer, the market is completely saturated. And players are sticking to what they like best, from Fortnite to PUBG, so it's supa hard to break into that camp. Some players have only ever known multiplayer games, and it's where they socialised as kids. Those players are older now, and don't always want to socialise online. My prediction is that socialising online through gaming will plateau in 2025, and hurt the gaming industry unless it sees the opportunity for more single player experiences. Titanfall 2 is a great example (it's not new), and Stalker 2, despite its technical issues shows a terrific single player game. Look out for the trends, and if you're in the trenches you'll be seeing more and more talk about SP campaigns and the desire for more story driven, character driven experiences.
