What if app monetization took a cue from those old arcade games? A quarter for a few minutes of fun – simple and transparent. The old ways – ads, in-app purchases – are wearing thin. Users are tired of interruptions and feeling nickel-and-dimed. It's time for something new, something that respects users and offers genuine value. Micropayments for #premium features, usage-based pricing, even ethical data monetization – these are just a few possibilities. And let's not forget #partnerships. Brands are always looking to reach their audience; apps can be the perfect platform. The #future might be hybrid, combining multiple revenue streams for a sustainable, user-friendly experience. Of course, challenges remain: privacy, data ownership, transparency. It's an exciting time in the app world. We're on the brink of a new era of monetization, one that's user-centric and #sustainable. What are your thoughts? What new models excite you? How can we create a win-win for everyone? Let's discuss! #privacy #app #sodelsolutions

What captures your interest more: reading a book or playing a game? Typically, around 90% of people lean towards games. Why? Because games actively engage and interact with us. Psychologically and practically, humans tend to prefer dynamic experiences over static ones. We gravitate towards activities that entertain us. Do you agree? You might be wondering why I'm discussing this. 🤔 It's because the distinction between a book and a game parallels the difference between a #website and a #webapp. A website offers static informational content, while a web app serves as a functional tool that encourages user interaction. When a business has its own web app: - Users find it engaging - It provides tools that add value to users - Eventually, user attraction and retention become seamless And ultimately, it's all about adding value to the user, isn't it? 😊 When they are happy, your business thrives. Let's get into the "Website vs Web App" difference in detail, and then you can decide what's best for your business. 🎯 #webapplication #valuecreation #appdevelopment #techinnovation #customerretention Divegen Technologies Tushar Dive

Understanding the Difference Between Websites and Web Applications 🌐 Websites: Websites are like digital brochures or storefronts. They typically provide static content that users can browse through. Examples include blogs, informational sites, and online portfolios. Websites are primarily informational and don't usually require user interaction beyond clicking links. 💻 Web Applications: On the other hand, web applications are more dynamic and interactive. They often involve complex functionalities and user engagement. Web apps can perform tasks like processing data, conducting transactions, or delivering personalized experiences. Think of online banking platforms, social media networks, or project management tools—these are all examples of web applications. Key Differences: Interactivity: Websites primarily provide information, while web applications offer interactive experiences. Functionality: Web applications perform specific functions or tasks, whereas websites focus on delivering content. User Engagement: Web apps often require users to create accounts, log in, and interact with the platform, while websites typically don't require user accounts for basic browsing. Complexity: Web applications tend to be more complex in terms of development and functionality compared to websites. Both websites and web applications play crucial roles in the digital ecosystem, catering to different needs and preferences. Understanding their differences can help businesses and users make informed decisions about their online presence and digital strategies. Which one do you prefer: Browsing websites for information or engaging with web applications for specific tasks? Let me know in the comments below! 🚀 #WebsiteVsWebApp #DigitalExperience #TechInsights

The variance in webshop adoption is tied directly to in-game economics. Games where maximizing the per-dollar return on spend is a competitive advantage (e.g., 4x) or large LTVs where even small rebates or discounts to the consumer overcome the fixed transaction cost to use the web versus IAP (e.g., social casino) have 70%+ adoption rates, while casual is stuck in a sub-30% paradigm. It's also interesting to see Playtika's DTC offering top out at about 1/4 of revenue. Perhaps each genre has its own ceiling, and after that, we're operating on the inelastic part of the demand curve. Brett Nowak has put together an incredible depth of benchmarks; funnily enough, improving webstore rates has been a recent popular ask for The Experimentation Group. Solving for the optimal rebate is a well-defined optimization problem with a clear bottom-line impact.

In five years, direct-to-consumer web stores will be seen as one of the best developments for app developers. Currently, 72% of the top 20 highest-grossing mobile games have web shops, according to Appcharge. Social casino games are leading the way, while only 30% of the top casual games have also adopted web shops. Although the short-term profit boost is beneficial, the long-term impact of directly connecting with users offers far more advantages. Users are no longer just daily active users (DAU), a mere statistic. They are individuals with whom app developers can—and should—connect closely in innovative ways. Already, innovations around web stores have been impressive, many of which we cover in our monthly Monetization Report (https://lnkd.in/gBrPUBB8). If a major app developer doesn't have a web store yet, they should consider it for strategic reasons, if nothing else. https://lnkd.in/guE8JqfU #MobileGaming #WebShops #PlayerEngagement #GameDevelopment
