Notice anything about these photos from a recent press kit? Imagine you're trying to lay out a story on a traditional website and this is what you have to work with. Media is not Social Media. I know social wants vertical. Mostly they want video, but vertical seems to be a close second. I get it, social's important. You might think it's all you need these days, because everyone's a content creator and brands are content creators acting like media outlets because who needs traditional media, amiright? But, just for shits & grins, maybe include a few more horizontal images in your media kits, mmkay? Also, if they could be at least 2500 px wide, that'd be swell. Thanks in advance, - every (not social) media outlet everywhere. (PS - There's a part 2 coming. Follow me.) #publicrelations #PRtips #media #digitalmedia #pr #PRadvice
"When photographers think they are the ones who should crop th shot...."
I'm right beside you, shaking my fist at the clouds! I cringe and grow another gray hair every time I ask my teens to photo or video something. One has really gotten into photography (3rd gen) but still uses her phone like everything might end up on TikTok.
Great point about the need for horizontal images in press kits. I often see the same issue when working with media outlets. Looking forward to your follow-up post!
I feel your pain brother.
heres to uncropped photos!
